Everyone needs to stop saying service workers are losers with no skill. They put up with a lot to serve your elitist ass.

This elitist ass worked for his money. You scum. Why should I pay for some kid who joked around in school. It is their fault they took school as a joke.

It's not skilled work. Yes, raise minimum wage. Just make sure everyone else's wage is also raised to reflect the fact that it's still not skilled work.
-
It's not a skill job. It's a job that is hard, but hard in terms of time, not knowledge.

2 RepliesLets just say that minium wage is increased to $15 an hour. For easy math, lets say double current minium wage. Does that mean everyone who doesn't get minium wage and has a skilled job gets their pay doubled?

10 RepliesNo it isn't. Job X pays $5 an hour. Job Y pays $100 an hour. Why you keep taking job X?

2 RepliesEdited by RandyDaGod: 5/15/2016 5:13:27 AMStriving to be more than minimum is now considered being an elitist?

Haha this guy is so dumb. He mutes me because he cannot refute easily deducted facts. He is an idiot and a child who can't stand to lose. He is a pitiful individual working a menial job that will never let him advance in life. I take pleasure in being the elitist who looks down on his stupidity.

1 ReplyAfter twelve years of school you still cant count the number of tacos i ordered.

3 RepliesDid you know that at $15 an hour, "minimum wage" workers would be in the same pay grade as software developers, accountants, and registered nurses. All of which require a degree. So you're saying a no college or high school degree burger flipper should be getting paid the same amount as those people? Hell no.

Skilled labor ain't cheap , cheap labor ain't skilled.

19 RepliesRaise minimum wage and you have to down size to cover costs or increase prices. Your lack of basic economic knowledge is why you're not an elitist much less anything more than some lowly service industry grunt. Tell me again why I shouldn't look down on you and your lack of intelligence?
-
4 RepliesLet them have their $15 an hour and see how expensive things get. Not to mention people at $15 now, they'll need $25-$30 an hour.

Raising the minimum wage that drastically will do nothing but drive businesses out of business. Why on earth are the advocates for this suggesting we double the minimum wage? Does that seem viable? If you think a company can function paying twice as much labor as it was previously you're just being willfully ignorant. Large corporations will survive and simply hike prices. Small businesses will either and die. Nothing will improve. I think providing low income American citizens with some sort of stipend would be a much better solution.

I work at a restaurant. I went from server assistant to GM in two years. Profits are higher than ever. Turnover rate is almost nonexistent since I was able to train a staff and keep them happy enough to actually stay working here. This was my first ever restaurant job. The only skill it takes is leadership and composure. Both of which i learned in the military, not in a restaurant. Front of house will never be worth $15/hr unless you're management. Even back of house is usually only skilled enough to be worth $15 if they're an experienced and talented cook/chef. I never once felt like my work (which is every position in this place except dishwasher) was skilled enough to be worth double the minimum wage. If you want your check to be worth that high of a pay rate, get promoted to management and make your work ethic and experience add value to your time, instead of just filling a slot that's needed for that shift.
