Gjallarhorn was completely 100% game breaking. One of the most ridiculously over-the-top OP weapons ever created in a video game. It took Bungie a year to address it.
There is a weapon in Division called Midas. It has an "exotic" perk that recharges your special ability extremely fast, making it super game breaking as well. Literally ONE DAY after word got out how broken it was... Boom, patched,
The point of all this? It is very nice to play a game that is fully supported by the Devs, and one where glitches / bugs / balancing issues are aggressively fixed.

I can think of a good list of other things far more game breaking (some in a literal sense) than the rocket with a name that everyone says incorrectly. Hell, I've seen things in fighting games that were more game breaking. On a side note, I love how this thread devolved into debates as to whether or not Gjallarhorn was broken...

The only game breaking weapon in Destiny was the Vex Mythoclast, which Bungo promptly fixed.

Good guy Tom Clancy

I didn't get past the first line before I realized you were an idiot.

7 RepliesEdited by Lordsa Jar-Jar: 3/13/2016 8:33:07 AMHow was Gjallarhorn broken? It did maybe 30-35% more dmg then your standard rocket. Being an exotic that's understandable. imo, they ruin games by "fixing" op weapons, those guns are what make the game fun. Only reason it was nerfed was so many casuals complained about it, because they couldn't get one. Xur should of just sold it sooner, on wait, he did.
-
4 RepliesI guess you never heard of Vex Mythoclast.

1 ReplyEdited by Cinders-Shadow: 3/16/2016 12:23:44 AMThe great part is, it's still a great gun. Sometimes nerfs just ruin a gun. I'm using it now and I'm farming high end gear with High critical chance+skill haste+smg dmg It basically creates a gun that heals you rapidly. Even without your abilities returning quickly. I can run through dark zone 6 now with using a heal ability. Only took a little bit of a dmg loss but ugh!!! So good.

2 RepliesOh so the pussies who cried daily with destiny are no crying with the Division. Glad to see y'all still ruining games. Trash.
-
10 RepliesOP plays division yet decided to write a post on Destiny forums. Gj buddy. Your are like an ex girlfriend who just can't take no for an answer. Yes destiny is getting stale. But for god sakes move on.

I got a Midas the day it was patched.
-
I didn't get ghorn until a week before they big update and TK
-
Nerf this nerf that sounds very familiar
-
1 ReplyBungo would have made it unusable garbage then waited a year to fix it
-
2 RepliesAlso they fixed the safe house trolls too
-
1 ReplyPretty sure nobody knew how strong ghorn was until a month after release. Xur sold it either the first or second week and most people probably thought it was one of the more common exotics because of this.

7 RepliesEdited by Nirvanos, Never Mind: 3/13/2016 4:05:55 AMThey also "patched" Phoenix coins as well, making it very, very hard to get them at a somewhat steady pace. It's nice that they're patching things quickly, but don't jump the gun by saying they're automatically better than Bungie. Wait a month or two to make that decision.

6 RepliesNot only that but get this
MIDAS IS STILL A GOOD WEAPON AFTER GETTING NERFED, UNBELIEVABLE
-
14 RepliesI think this goes more to show how little testing Ubisoft actually does. There's no way someone used this gun and then didn't start cackling maniacally.
-
24 RepliesBearing in mind that 90% of the Division's end-game is the dark zone.
-
1 ReplyDid they also patch up that materials exploit?
where they respawn after switching lobbies
-
Where can I get this midas
-
2 Repliesgjallarhorn wasn't game breaking, OP yes, but not game breaking. if you're refering to being kicked for not owning the gjallarhorn, then yes that did break the game.

9 RepliesEdited by Smarkdow: 3/13/2016 2:31:37 AM
It took Bungie a year to address it.
That some people are shocked by this tells me they're not all that familiar with Bungie. Halo 3's initial melee system was atrocious and there were tons of complaints from players. It took Bungie months to admit that they were looking in to it, but adding in the caveat that it was working "as designed" (basically being almost dismissive of the complaints in tone). It took a few more months for them to actually patch it, and afterwards it was slightly better than before but wasn't touched upon again. Point is, Bungie makes changes slowly and almost begrudgingly so, and this isn't anything new.
-
3 RepliesSo how did they fix it? Was it working as intended and just did it's job too well? Or was there a problem with something that made it work as it was? It's always good to see things get fixed. But depending on how they structure weapons in their game maybe it's easier for them to roll out a patch. Maybe they have a loose release schedule. It's just childish to say someone is better because they did something quick.

Okay? So what?
