Based on accounts from other players, it seems that I'm not the only person experiencing this. Sometimes when shooting a player dead-on, they take 0 damage as though none of the bolts hit at all.
Now you might say "Well you just missed or did something wrong" but I would disagree because it seems very unlikely that none of the 7 bolts would deal damage in a situation that normally results in a kill.
Hopefully fixing the collision bug fixes this issue, but maybe it's something worth looking into.

1 ReplyEdited by RenoEDGE: 2/3/2016 7:29:07 AMI think what you are experiencing is a side affect of a couple of things. Fusion rifles are not hit detection guns like most of the crucible guns(pull the trigger, and if cross hair is over target, a hit is detected). Fusion rifles fire fast moving projectiles that leave the gun, have a travel time, and if they cross paths with en enemy will attempt to register a hit. This bolt travel time coupled with latency is where you get your issue. Taking into account the current state of the crucible, when firing a fusion rifle at basically any moving target if you are in a game experiencing any amount of lag, you will miss. Where as the hit detection weapons usually just register the hit a bit late... the fusion rifles with bullet travel time requiring collision with a target will generally just see a miss. If they can manage to pull their heads out of their asses and fix the crucible it will help out with these issues... along with a fix to the fusion rifle stability they totally -blam!-ed and fusion rifles should be good to go. Unless of course your target has been standing perfectly still for a few seconds.... if it's missing at that point then it's something else.

7 RepliesBump! They need to buff those fusion rifles. The stability on it is not as good as they say on the updates. Fusion rifles are still crap.

Hmm I think I did experience this. Just got Plan C and I had, what I though were, a couple of point blank hits that didn't seem to register.

I agree. Same thing happened to me multiple times with the iron banner fusion rifle seems the only fusion rifle that's usable and viable in the crucible is thesan fr4 with range finder.

their range was reduced to Warlock melee range... which, to be fair... is pretty far. =P you see what I did there?

I don't know if it's lag but this has happened last time I used a fusion.

What I have noticed, is that when I use a fusion rifle in PvE, I will hit my shots like expected, but when I got to PvP with those same fusion rifles, the shots just don't want to register. The same goes with autos. I can easily use my anguish of Drystan and get Percision kills at range l, but when it comes to PvP, none of the bullets hit, or will cause normal damage when I clearly hit their head.

Its been happening to me too.. My fusion hit all bolts at close range to a dude and he took no damage
