the weekly heroic challenge's rewards say there would be an exotic engram and I didn't get one, why?

The weekly heroic does not reward an exotic engram. It awards a legendary engram. The yellow icon is the Cryptarch reward icon, which is used to show an engram as a guaranteed reward. The icon used to indicate exotic rewards appears to be a black question mark with a grey background.
