Three of Coins Does not Work Anymore
Since the last patch regarding the Three of Coins I have received, maybe, one exotic engram. I run Heroics regularly and use a Three of Coins before each fight. I use to get one every third or fourth and sometimes every second fight but not any more. Either the Three of Coins needs reworked or removed and just add the exotic to the loot table in heroics. This is taking up a lot of game time farming for currency to but them and you get nothing to show for it. I have been with the gaming community since beta release and have not been more disappointed. Bungie, I have stuck with you like a bad marriage but something's gotta give. You take our money but you don't listen to gamers like me. Give me then loot chance that you claim is there.

I can also confirm this. Since lsst update the 3 of coins dont work like before. I use to get 1 out of 5 guarantee and now I am used 50 and got only 2

I use 4-5 per raid and get 1-2 exotics.

I used 30 this time Xur came around and for some reason i could get 5 within the first 10 strikes, after that i was lucky if i got one every 4-5 strikes its drop rate is really weird.

I used 15-20 within the last week on Strikes, Dailys and the Raid and got 5 Exotics. They work, its just random.

Every time someone posts a farming method for 3oC it gets patched almost instantly. It's been nerfed to the point of being a waste of coins.

Idk if its just good luck till just recently but I've gotten maybe 15 (without farming that story mission) since the launch and some of them were double drops. Lately, like since the Nightstalker quiver glitch patch I havent had one. I know we got spoiled when we got them but damn I'd like to not waste 40 three of coins and get one exotic that I already have.

Right after the patch I went through 14 before getting one. They were all strikes as well.

Don't feel to bad there bud I use probably 20+ a week and usually only get one or two. Just the cards you've rolled

I got 4 exotics yesterday. Played little over an hour. But also I've grinded for over 2 hours and not received a single exotic. My buddy burned through over 20 coins, no exotic. It happens. Stop whining.

its all RNG bud, ive gotten some back to back some take a while. 3OC is only an increased chance, this means its still random, not guaranteed

Ditto that. I've gotten only one exotic since patch. To make it any better, the so call smart loot gave me an exotic I already have. It was no better than a high legendary use to infuse. Grind to nothing again.

I have really good luck with them. Just got an Exotic killing the Warmind Orge for today's daily Heroic.

I get one every five three of coins i use they qork pretty good just dont use them so offten use them every second or third strike

I have found that I have better results using ToC and getting exotic drops from killing Taken Champions on patrol than I get using ToC in Strikes.

I chained a bunch of strikes on Friday and partly on Saturday to get 7-8 exotics. (Most are sitting in the vault for when I finally clear 300 light level. I did use a few, but I only used 1 per strike and I made sure to use them JUST before the boss fight and sometimes during the boss fight. I heard that there is a hidden time limit to the coins effectiveness, so I rather not take any chances by taking too long if that rumor is true.

2 RepliesI have noticed two things with the 3 of coins. Use it during the fight. Every time I've had an exotic drop, I used a 3oC during the fight. Get the kill. Every time I've had a exotic drop, I made the killing blow. I could be totally wrong, but it seems when I do those two things I get better drops.
