I've got about 750 Weapon Parts. I've never been short, every time I dismantle a weapon, I get more. And I get a lot of weapons.
So why do some people not have any? The only reason I can think of is that they used too many to get faction rep quickly.

I had 450+ weapons parts when the update hit, I am fairly aggressive with leveling and fusing my guns. Last night to my surprise I looked down for the first time and was completely shocked to discover I was OUT of weapons parts and nothing has changed in the way I play.
-
Rerolling with HOW and weapon infusing takes 10 parts which is a bit ridiculous. If I broke down the weapon rather than infusing before the nerf I'd usually get at least 2 parts. Would be nice if they lowered number of weapon parts required for infusion to 5.

3 RepliesI max out every weapon that appears to be good and experiment with builds You shouldn't be punished for playing with more guns in a game designed around getting more guns
-
Yeah the faction rep - who would have thought that 70-80 percent of engrams turn into gauntlets, cloaks, helmets or chest pieces. That's the number one problem and now they nerf them - -blam!-ing bungie
-
1 Reply80%+ of engram drops are armor. It is ridiculous.
-
People spent a lot on reforge during prison of elders. That still I've got over 400 on both my guys.
-
I'm out here, turning tricks behind Variks' tent just so I can earn a few burners to break down and put some parts on fams table.
-
I'm not big on trying new guns unless the perks are good and frankly the TTK gun perks are crap. I just switch guns over between guardians
-
It occurred because bungie loves to artificially increase the play time of their game. It was a pointless thing to "nerf".
-
Had over 4000. With rerolling and Rahool & that a hole from DO hating my family tree I went through WP like a coke head in ...you get the point. How was I to know it would take 30 WP to lvl up one gun not including infusion.... Gunsmith needs to sell them. That's part of any Gunsmiths job is to furnish parts. I don't care how many marks he charges! Put that shit on the self you stingy bastard!!!

Reforging then infusion.

Infusion mostly now. Before HoW I had almost 2k weapon parts. Refilling weapons cost me my stockpile. It's not so bad now but Infusion costs 10 weapon parts. Bungie inexplicably lowered the amount of weapon parts we earn from dismantling so it'll be worse now.
-
Here is why. We were not warned this would happen. We never imagined it would be an issue. Why keep 2k parts that I never use when I can get faction rep? Infuse new weapons? Etc. Now they're almost non existent and no one saw it coming. It's bullshit and it's not our fault we tried to make use of overstocked items.
-
While I used plenty for some faction rep, if you have say 10 new weapons from ttk or more which is likely and upgrade all of them and infuse in upwards of 300 with them it takes parts for every node and infusion. I just had about 150 the other day from some grinding landed 2 new exotics upgraded them and last night have zero again and cant even finish several upgrades let alone infuse. It sucks really but I'm assuming it all depends too on how people play. If your not upgrading new weapons all the time then yeah you'll have plenty.
-
2 RepliesNo clue. I've turned in several thousand to get faction rep and I'm still nowhere near running out. I understand that some people really loved rerolling but I don't know why people are still having issues with them in TTK.
-
Rerolling weapons in HoW followed by infusing and upgrading weapons in TTK.
-
Personally ive always tried out alot of guns and leveled them all up,also lots of reforging when that was a thing.now lots of infusing lol now armour perts ive had a crap load well over 1000 at one point before i used alot for faction.but weapon parts?nope scraping the bottom of the barrel

4 RepliesIdk I have 3k?

Reforging you can't stop

Faction rep and rerolling
-
2 RepliesI still have 1,239 weapon parts ppl are stupid and infuse anything that is cool for them
-
1 ReplyNope, some of us are sweaty tryhard PVP'ers and I re-rolled every weapon in HoW to have the perfect roll for every map. Different machine guns, different shotguns for my hunter/Titan/warlock, Different snipers for different maps....search of perfection to get just that little edge on every map...managed to get over 75 flawless runs in trials. That's why people are low on weapon parts...reforging, and now infusing stuff...gotta get all my weapons up to 310, I have over 30 weapons at 310(minus swords). Takes a lot of weapon parts to get all those weapons up that high.

Never had this problem
