Is it just me or was Deej being very vague about the true structure of the new levelling system? Is it that since we're level 20 now (light lvl 34) were going to have to grind from lvl 20 all the way up to lvl 40? Can someone please clarify.

Put us all on the same level on release?

Edited by rebelfist1: 8/11/2015 6:55:01 PMAgreed...the devil is in the details.were gonna download the dlc and discover that instead of being light level 34 were gonna be rank 20;which in itself would coincide with Deej's statement that we rank up by simply playing the game...over and over and over again...through 20 levels of grind...we won't notice the first set of levelling because we'll be to occupied unraveling the content, but you can be sure as hell that you'll notice it levelling your other 2 characters (60 levels total to reach 40 on 3 characters). Which is cool...I'm use to the grind by now; but If Bungie gave a shit about year one players then they would honour our grind (and $140 invested thus far) and make all new purchasers of Destiny GRIND the entire game from the beginning like we did...so that they can then EARN their LEGEND instead of it being given it to them for 60 bucks.

Your level will start at the highest attained level on that character. That means, if you have 34 light right now, you'll start at level 34. There is absolutely no back tracking you have to do.

Light level does not determine your rank, so i have 14 light on all 3 characters, which means i will be a 20, and we can pick one character to level up to 40 with a buff, even gamespot, said thats how it seems Lots of people are thinking we will be 20, i hope you are right, they need to give us more info, instead of all this cryptic bullshit all the time.. I need to know what we are getting now, i want it fully explained.. I either pre-order this or pre-order fall out 4.. I know whats winning at the moment. Hope they reveal all soon.

Edited by X EARTH W0LF X: 8/12/2015 6:25:46 AMUnless they plan on lowering the entire Crota content to level 20 (the supposed prequest to The Taken King) I very very highly doubt they'll drop us to 20. It would make no sense that the story for Crota goes to level 26 and The Taken King start at level 20.
-
Hope you are right... But think of the people who are buying it for the first time, bungie certainly are.
-
Edited by X EARTH W0LF X: 8/12/2015 5:08:46 PMThat's why Bungie is giving every player who buys TTK a consumable to boost 1 character to the level to start TTK content. Don't worry. From the details I've been hearing recently, I don't think we will be losing any levels.
-
Theres a boost to get ur character high enuff for ttk content? Well that sounds easy. Might as well put matchmaking since you guys gnna get noobs in the raid either way. Why would they give a boost to everyone?
-
Edited by X EARTH W0LF X: 8/12/2015 5:03:48 PMIt's a marketing gimmick. World of Warcraft did the same thing in the last expansion.
-
Would be kinda cool taking ultimate noobs through vog with there other two characters.
-
Ah ok, that makes sense. So new players can skip all the vog n crota stuff to start ttk... Yep that does make sense actually.
-
Lol is that sarcasm? Cuz i dont understand why they would put a boost. Sounds like there will be loooots of noobs in the high leveled content.

Will they have to do vog n crota? Will we be 20? If our ligjt level effects our guns, what will noobs do? Bungie seem to have this vision of loads of people suddenly deciding to buy this expansion, even though they didn't buy vanilla destiny, and personally i cant see it happening. It will just be the year 1 players still... People who like mmo grind games... They should just add a couple of raids, shit loads of new weapons and armour and keep it the same. A 6 hour campaign, a few quests, and an xp climb to 40 will not provide any shelf life, a decent mmo with a grindy loot system can last years if done well

Yea. Ive been playing dc universe for like 3 years. The thing is since bungie is owned by activision, their games r most likely gnna b released like cod. Cod is a game for noobs to play. Destiny is heading towards that path. Nothing wrong with that tho. Theres ppl who buy cod even if its the same shit over and over untill the realize it too late lol i only bought cod4. I guess i catch on to bs very early.
