I don't know about you guys but does anyone else use grimoire as a way to tell how skilled a gurdian is?
Everytime I enter trials I get a little worried when the guys I vs have higher grimoire.

I wouldn't say it's the only deciding factor, but I certainly look at it. Mine is at 3515, which I know isn't max, but there's only a few milestones yet to get that I care about (namely Raid completions and Crucible kills as a Titan). I know I'll never finish all of the PvP playlist ones. I think "respect" is the wrong word, it's more like comfort with their experience. If I pug some players for a raid and they all have over 3000 I feel pretty confident that they know what they are doing.

Have the grimoire score is killing the same enemies, finding dead ghosts and playing all raids and crucible playlists. Grimoire doesn't matter that much to me
-
I get respect because I know what I'm doing and am not an ignorant or selfish asshole. Grimoire isn't everything

3630 here. I bought the game originally (on day one) for its PvE content, such as Raids. That aspect of the game I have mastered. It is nothing for myself and 2 or 3 friends to play through an entire VoG hard mode in an hour or less. Crota hard? Piece of cake for just myself and one other good player. I also play PvP, on an increasing basis, essentially because that has been the focus of HoW. I have never been very good at PvP, but I have managed 6 or 8 lighthouse trips. So, I play both aspects of the game with enough competency to have a higher grimiore, but I'm not the guy you necessarily fear in PvP. I guess my point is that we all have our focus and what we enjoy the most, but you must play both game modes competently to have a high grimiore.

People with high grimoire a scare me, it means they literally did everything, I'm sitting at a 3250 and I really want to get it up to 3600 by farming
-
Grimoire just means more playtime. I do get more worried when I see high grimoire score than a flawless emblem but I've always rekt people of all shapes and sizes so idk
-
I get excited when I see another max grimoire player in pvp. I like the challenge.
-
I only have 3000 because I don't hunt for ghosts, at all. Doesn't make me any less skilled but someone with a 3650 grimoire is most likely good at the game and so I would be more worried facing someone with max grimoire than someone with my grimoire
-
When I see players with 3600+ in trials...I get pretty worried. More so than teams full of flawless emblems.

1 ReplyTheir Grimoire cards matter more than score. Someone can have a decent score and none of it be in the PvP section of the Grimoire.
-
Grimoire just means you played to much like me
-
Grimoire = played too much I respect the determination and diligence but at the same time, it's also a bit pathetic #nolife

2 RepliesTo get Hellboys respect.... Beat Dark Souls 32 times Than we can talk

Medal score, k/d (in some cases).

I think to some extent grimoire means something. It kinda lets you know how much the person has experienced the game. Time played that is... I don't think it really measures skill. I have a grimoire of 3455. Some may think that is a high score, some may think it's a low score, but it still lets you know that I have experienced the game quite a bit. I think to truly measure a player you have to play with them.

It's really only max grimoires that intimidate me.

2 RepliesGrimoire is usually good indicator of skill, the higher a person's grimoire score is, the more effort they have put into the game. Now, when players put a lot of effort into a game, they are usually pretty good at it, or at least have a good knowledge of the game. This is not accurate 100% of the time though. I've seen several players with high grimoire scores who suck, and several with lower scores who know the game inside and out.

Edited by Loyalpayer: 8/4/2015 12:16:44 PMOnly 5% of people who played this game on the playstation collected 50 ghosts or more. High grimoire just means you are one of that 5%. (Playstation users)

2 RepliesGrimiore score simply gives Guardians an idea of how much effort one has put into taking part in all that Destiny has to offer. It doesn't represent one's skill in PvE/PvP in any way, shape, or form.
-
mmmmm grimoire
-
Great answers!
-
I kinda do, but I have a very high grimoire, but suck most of the time. My friend has a grimoire under 3000 and usually carrys me or gwets all the kills before anyone knows what happened lol
-
Meh, it depends, my friend has a lesser grimore score but he is like a thousand times better than me.
-
The people who play more PVP are likely to have a lower grimorie. They're not going to bother farming Hydras, Ogres, doing the raids 50+ times, etc. Odds are, there are guys who have been to the lighthouse a hundred times, but have a lower grimoire than I do & I have only been once.
-
When someone is really close to max then I get worried, because they probably have a ton of rumble wins, and if they can win vs 5 other people than 3vs3 shouldn't be that hard for them.
