Now I know everyone has seen posts about this and I'm sure if your from the UK your confused or angry, or maybe both.
So TTK is $40 and in UK £40, already something is wrong.
Without VAT (20%) the game in Britain should cost £20.50 but then adding VAT again which is 20% at the current time, so with VAT added the cost of the game should be £30. Yet I'm being forced to pay £10 extra.
Deej please if you read this a quick explanation would be great!
Thanks,

EDIT 2: All countries are neither perfect or the best, however they can be in your opinion but please don't use that as a reason for the above :) ( edited )

80£ = 125 USD

2 RepliesDoesn't the UK pay more for just about everything? Their minimum wage is better as well and their labor laws are pretty excellent. Aren't you guaranteed paid Vacation/Holiday time and it's like 5 and a half -blam!-ing weeks? Paid maternity leave as well as paid paternity leave. While you're bitching and moaning about the few extra dollars you have to pay for a damned game I'm laughing.

Because America > Other countries

Because communism, that's why

1 ReplyI'm Canadian and paying an extra $12

Have you compared wages in UK and USA? There is a difference in the prices in USD, however, you aren't paid in usd. Are you? Minimum wage is UK is 1378.87 EUR per month or about $1542 In Washington DC it's $9.50/hr. This is the highest in the US. That's $1520 per month or about 1359 EUR. You make more than even our highest paid state minimum wage. Just because it costs more doesn't mean you actually pay more. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Edited by zrandall111: 6/26/2015 2:04:06 AMBunge doesn't know how to convert currency in they're mind $40 = 40 pounds Also if any of them have iPhones or a smart phone with a voice assistant just ask what's $40 in pounds it's not that -blam!-ing hard!

5 RepliesEdited by combat_ninja08: 6/25/2015 7:37:20 PMWell your math is a little off. $40 converted to GBP is £25.52 approximately, so include the VAT again and it slightly alters the numbers you gave. But I also see that you put that 20% of £20 is £10 maybe it's my dumb American brain but your math is off again. This aside many games the price isn't determined by the developer, they recommend a price and then it's placed by Microsoft or Sony in this case. At the same time Activision would have more control over the price than bungie in this case. The dumb American brain comment isn't directed at the op, but someone will say it. Always seems to happen.

1 ReplyEdited by ACTION BASTURD: 6/25/2015 2:01:11 PMBECAUSE MERICA! FREEDOM! BALD EAGLES! FIRE WORKS! Actually it's really unfair and it makes absolutely no sense. Seeing as how most people probably use their currencies electronically the exchange rates should be no problem. It's the biggest scam since Bernie Madoff.

Simple answer , you aren't American.
-
You have to remember we here in England are a tiny little market. What they make from us is a drop in the ocean compared to what they get from the US. Do you really think they care if a few English don't buy the dlc?. I personally probably won't buy it, but my budget is limited and I'm waiting for Battlefront.
-
Is it that bungie has set it out to cost 40 of whatever currency your country uses? I'm not sure about countries where the currency equals a lot less than 40 dollars for instance so don't quote me. Should never make a difference that the pound is stronger and worth more than the dollar.

You have Austin Powers, you win
-
How's it feel when we are still getting back at you ;) maybe you shouldn't have taxed us so much in the past :)
-
Because you taxed us on everything you could. We are getting back at you.
-
I don't know, why are you? Awe crap, i'm not bungie. Sorry. I traded in some old games so i have store credit. I'll probably use that to get it. Or meh, wait till i see how it is. The honeymoon for the prison of elders was way shorter than that of the dark below. The hype far exceeded the content. They held back the raid so that they could satisfy the season pass "expansion" fulfillment for year one'ers that prepaid. Now are ready to gamble that people are ready to jump in for another "this time is the real deal" go at it. Buyer beware. Don't be mesmerized by the hype machine. The new "special" offerings have very little do do with the actual game play.

I'm buying the 40$ edition while I'm on Europe, thanks Bungie for being so smart.

3 RepliesLol @ asking deej for help. Thats like asking an empty cereal box for cereal.
-
This isn't a bungie issue, all xbox and playstation games are the same. Your problem is with Microsoft or sony

27 RepliesI live in australia. This expansion (digital download) will cost me $70-$80. Stfu UK and America, you have it easy.

Fallout 4 USA price: $60 = £38.15 UK price: £42 = $66 TTK USA price: $40 = £25.43 UK price: £40 = $62.91 No, this is not due to inflation, taxes, cost of living or some other stupid excuse. The average difference between the UK is 18%. I only used one game as an example (yes it's is a lot lower than average inflation) but it highlights the significant difference. TTK in the UK costs 57.3% more than in the US. These absurd numbers cannot be explained by taxes, cost of living etc. Only one excuse explains it and that's greed.

Isn't VAT charged by your country, I'm pretty sure it's a EU thing? I'd take that issue up with your politicians.

1 ReplyEdited by kimcheerocket: 6/25/2015 12:28:49 PMJust think of it as war reparations. We're still not over what your King did to us back in the 18th century. P.S. VAT=value added tax? What a messed up name for a tax. And 20%? Geeze I thought California was bad with 10%. Not trying to rag on your country I'm sure it's a wonderful place.
-
I feel sorry for you guys. I don't agree with the pricing here in the states and to charge you even more is crazy. This expansion doesn't show bungie's love for making games that people want to play. It shows their greed and what happens when you sell your soul to activision.
