Is it Just me, or is Trials Getting Harder Every Week?
This isn't a complaint, just a personal observation. I don't know about everyone else, but for me (on x360), I've been facing more challenging people each week. Still not a problem, my team and I still go flawless, but on the first week, literally half of our games were against underlevered characters that we could one-shot without final round using a high impact sniper. The second week was still very easy, just minus the lv30's. But the past 2 weeks, almost every game was against other flawless groups. They cost us our mercy boons every once in a while, but we've went from 5-0ing almost every game to 5-4's or very close games now.
Did they change anything in the matchmaking process? Maybe all of the "noobs" just gave up on doing trials? Once again, this is a question, not a complaint, just wanted to see if everyone else was getting matched against more adept opponents as the weeks go by.
EDIT: Looks like lots of people are noticing similar things. It would make sense that most people either got better through experience or just gave up and stopped playing trials.

Edited by bnarsty: 6/22/2015 8:46:35 PMIt's actually been the opposite for me. I did alright the first week. Second week got smoked and couldn't even get 4 wins. Last week I got to 9 wins no flawless and this week I went flawless! I think I might just be getting better

Average players have stopped trying. It will only get worse going forward.

I would say the talent pool is concentrated based off my experience. My two pals and I gave Trials a shot for the first time last night and got smoked. I can handle myself in the Crucible and I had to play my butt off to not go negative. Granted, we need to practice playing together, so that's part of it. I've read a lot about the cheating and only two matches I had were "shady acres", so that was nice. I'm a big enough boy to take a whipping from someone with skill. I hate to say it, but we're going to have to buy a float in the Thorn parade to keep it honest.

As the lesser good players get stomped they begin to give up just leaving more of the better players meaning harder competition

If I had to guess people who gave ToO a shot and weren't very good at it gave up, now the pool of players is smaller and primarily pvp lovers.

1 ReplyWent 8-0 multiple times this week to have a flawless team come in on the 9th game and do something faggy like blink + felwinters. Pretty annoying to put that much time into something just to get shit on at the very end

I'm guessing a lot of people who struggled with it have given up on it. This leaves the players who are good, or have a shot with the right team, and this makes the competition, on average, much better.

1 ReplyIf bungie made it so you never got matched against great players it wouldn't be a challenge and the victory when you finally make it wouldn't be as sweet. Like everything in Destiny it is luck of the draw. Some cards you get lag, elite players and disconnects - happens to even the best. Stick with it and hopefully one card will be that magic run.

It's getting harder because everyone who had a team and still have it are getting better with the strength and weaknesses of each other.

I mainly think it is getting harder because people that aren't that good at trials are giving up and older and better teams are staying week after week

They promptly got wrecked and decided it was stupid and they wouldn't play again. Some semi okay players at least got to armor so they were okay with it. The next week the competition was made slightly harder cuz under leveled kids were weeded out but the noobs slash bad players were in... Then these players were out and any medium level players who can't snipe got sniped one too many times and left. Week 3 we are left with a bunch of flawless players some skilled some carried but the carried ones get weeded out along with anyone who hates final round snipers and got frustrated. Week 4 all try hards everywhere along with exploit using hunters with the GG glitch, week 5 (now) so many sweaty try hards and the rest just okay using the cheapest weapons possible. So basically unplayable until everyone has everything they want and the try hards stop playing for a little while and the average players return which should be around weeks 6-7. Unfortunately some will only be playing for flawless so you'll still be bound to run into a few neckbeards

All the crap has left trials. It's not fun to lose. Soon the mediocre will leave and then trials will be really good players. It's not science.

they should of just left the map on burning shrine,mercury pretty much the best map due to the rotating cover
