I've had issues with Weasel (and caterpillar before it) back when the game was originally released. It's been stable for the last couple months, but today has been awful. Getting kicked out to the title screen because of the weasel every 20-30 minutes makes the game pretty much unplayable.
I'm on Xbox One, have Time Warner Cable, and my internet hums along with everything else (including other Xbox online games, and Destiny pre-1.2.0). I have a Motorola SB6141 modem and a TP-Link router. I'm on a wired connection, and set up the port-forwarding just as it directed in the Bungie help article. I've contacted my ISP, and they assured me that there are no issues from them. Since the issue is isolated to when I'm playing Destiny, and only since the new update, I would think that the root cause is on Bungie's end.
Didn't they delay the release of the update because it would cause a connectivity issue with some people?

I have the same issue. I set a timer for 28 minute so I know I'm about to be weaseled. Exactly every 30 minutes, like clockwork.

Unfortunately, Weasel is back and just as bad as ever. I have the simple 'Complete a strike without dying' bounty, and I can't complete it because of Weasel. It seems that that DMZ fix that worked so well earlier was just a temporary fix. Also, this only seems to happen on the weekends. I was booted multiple times out of Trials Saturday night. It wasn't a big deal for me, because I suck at PvP, but I felt bad for my teammates who kept being down a man for no real reason.

So. For those who dont know. If you get an error code for something like packet loss or NAT issues. its most likely not on your end. Regardless of what bungies error code section says, they are running p2p servers for this game instead of upgrading. So in the long run, it doesnt matter if you have 3mb or 50mb. Still bound to have a bad connection down the road. Just depends on what server you are dropped into. Hopefully they upgrade their servers soon. Losing alot of people because of it.

1 ReplyHey everyone, As I mentioned before, thanks for replying to the thread. It's somewhat comforting knowing others are going through the same thing (not that I wish this on anyone). I do have an update on my connection issues that I think you'll be interested in. Short version: Setting up a DMZ on my router for my console allowed me to do the Queen's bounties on all 3 of my characters, and 2 VoG raid runs without a single disconnection later in the weekend. If folks wouldn't mind chiming in on what I did (how a DMZ works, the potential negatives, etc.) that would be greatly appreciated. Long version: After my little temper tantrum earlier in the weekend, I finished reading through all the similar threads on the forums. A Bungiehlp (sp?) person was responding to a couple of the threads and trying to diagnose the problem. This person's first response in every thread was to blame the players' modem and/or router (eyeroll). But after that, they mentioned setting up a DMZ for your console. I'm fairly computer literate, but I'm not good at networking stuff, so I don't really know what a DMZ is, or how exactly it works. Acknowledging that, I set it up on my router (and this is in addition to the port forwarding and other stuff I did, per Bungie's help articles), and there was an immediate improvement. I played uninterrupted all weekend (which is more hours of gameplay than I'm comfortable admitting). :-) Anyways, that's how it's turning out for me. I'm curious to see how this is going to work when my fiance is also trying to stream Netflix while I'm playing. I'm curious to see if this settings tweak will result in her having more issues with Roku connectivity.

Have the same except I'm in Sweden: have a 100/100 line that gives me 85/80 in reality and done everything Bungie tell me to do but still get Weasel. It's been ok for the last month but started again last week and it messed up my Xbox 1 two times where I had to pull the power cable to shut it off. Not gonna be fun in PoE or the Raids when i drop out. That was what kept me out of Raids in the first place.

1 ReplyI have had this problem since 1.1.2 I have a different ISP but I know it's on destinys end. I have done all the same things and get these stupid errors. Bungie never replies to the numerous complaints I've posted about this issue... I wish everyone luck in resolving this issue... I know it's annoying.
-
2 RepliesI have the same issues. Havent been able to play for 3 weeks. Have seen over 20 error codes. Everything i use my internet for works fine except destiny. Is bungie doing anything about this or even acknowledging the problem? I have paid for 2 dlc and of course the game and now i cant play AT ALL! Its like someone came into my home and stole my game. Im 30 years old have been gaming my whole life and have never experienced anything like this. If your going to make a game exclusively online it better work. If you cant do that give me my money back. Anyone up for a class action lawsuit against bungie?

Played Black Ops 2 with my daughter on two consoles for four hours today and no issues, jump on Destiny and my console is all jacked up and getting Weasel/Baboon errors. It's no longer worth playing the game if I am going to get kicked off every ten minutes. Enjoy the expansion guys, I'm not playing anymore until the issue is fixed and Bungie admits they caused the problem. BTW, Port Forwarded according to Bungie's recommendations and still getting errors left and right.
-
2 RepliesI'm getting the exact same thing. I'm on xbox one and I'm not having a problem with anything other than Destiny.
-
I'm so frustrated. Can't play the game for 5 minutes without getting booted due to weasel and baboon errors. My ports have been forwarded and have a static IP. Bungie at least needs to address this issue publicly. I have no idea if they are working on this, or when a fix is inbound!!
-
Same here, I gave up in the end yesterday as it was completely unplayable.
-
Since this last update I'm lucky to leave orbit in patrol and reach my destination after I start shooting... on cosmodrone I can barely get to forgotten shores but can't get to Rasputin area
-
I've been getting weasel errors multiple times during the past few days.
-
4 RepliesWhat is your Up-Down for your internet?
-
Keep getting baboon every five to ten minutes.

Edited by Live: 5/17/2015 2:56:19 PMI thought it was only on Playstation
-
Hmmm all working for me try restart modem and console, i think this is a region problem
-
Cant play at all. Weasel, hyena, elk, eel... after 5-10min of gameplay. Fix it Bungie!
-
4 RepliesI literally share your exact same problem same cable company and everything
-
Hey I'm not alone in this crap. I've been getting wrecked by the error codes and can barely stay in anything now
-
1 ReplySame here I have had about 20 weasel codes and a couple of seal codes
-
I've been having this on and off today. The connection issues in this game are driving me crazy!
-
This is so annoying and bungie needs to fix this they make us pay 20$ for the expansion that I probably won't be able to enjoy due to getting kick out of any activity even chilling in orbit. Please someone's tell me if bungie knows that this is a problem and if they are trying to fix it. I'm in the PS3 and I know for a fact that it's not my connection I can play other game online perfect no problem wish I could say the same for destiny...
-
Yup getting kicked all the damn time from weasel, marionberry, cataplier, among others at least 20 times a day if not more
