Seriously, why is this gun soooo underrated? This gun is everything you want in a primary. The Jack of all trades, master of none type of weapons. Numerous hidden perks too.
• Snapshot (ADS Faster than normal)
• Quickdraw (Swap weapons quicker than normal)
• High Cal. Rounds (Staggers EVERYTHING)
Its special perks gives you a movement speed perk on top of another +2 agility perk, so you could say it has its own Single-Point Sling. 4 shot headshot in crucible, compared to the typical 3 shot of a hand cannon*? It has a faster fire rate than most hand cannons too.
This gun literally made me switch to Scouts now, and i used to love Hand cannons like crazy. Don't get me wrong, i like using HC's, but would much prefer a scout. I kinda wish more people could see the value this weapon has over others, too bad very many of them think it sucks. 😟
*Excluding Hawkmoon RNG perk, Thorn, and Final Round Perk.
Edit #1: Wasn't expect this to trend! A lot of MIDA lovers out there!

12 RepliesEdited by Adam: 3/7/2015 7:46:52 PMYou flinch WAY, WAY too much while using MIDA. The second anything shoots you, your aim goes to Hell. If they changed that, it'd be a lot more viable. As it stands, it really isn't. Hand Cannons destroy MIDA I'd main MIDA if I could, but the flinching under fire seriously holds it back and the agility perks are massively over-rated in my opinion.

My favorite weapon. It's great that so many players will get to discover it now.

1 ReplyShhhhh they will nerf my baby if you keep talking about how great it is.

If you're a hunter with radiant dance machines you move at lightspeed while ads

Yuppp got mines from the first time he sold it last year

MIDA was my first exotic, purchased from Xur that first time back in November, even though I was still more of an auto rifle guy. I used it during my first VoG run, was really liking it, then got Vision of Confluence from Atheon as my first ever VoG weapon. A scout rifle fan was born. Now I've got about five or six solid legendary or better scout rifles and have a hard time choosing between them all. Sadly, my MIDA hasn't been touched since that first VoG run though. Probably because I don't want to tie up my exotic slot on a scout rifle. One of these days I'll get around to levelling it but for every primary I level up I end up getting two more that jump ahead on the priority list.

3 RepliesI'm following the same path. Started with pulse rifles as they were the closest comfortable relation to the Battle Rifle in Halo I found. Then I found Hand Cannons. They were great for precision damage and getting the job done. My first legendary weapon was a Lord High Fixer, and I used that weapon well into post DLC. I always figured that Scout Rifles were a natural progression from Hand Cannons, but much preferred aiming down the iron sights of a Hand Cannon. Whenever I'd get a scout or armor that would support it, I'd readily dismantle it. Wouldn't even check the perks. Figured, "I'd never use these." Even passed on Mida when Xur sold it. Then I got a Crypt Dweller from a Nightfall, with Firefly. I loved it. Then a B-Line Trauma with explosive rounds... I can't put the things down now. That Mida is of a couple of exotic weapons that I haven't gotten yet, and everyone that I speak to that uses it loves it. Can't wait to give it a try. 💪

2 RepliesBecause of this post, I started using my multi tool lol. It's awesome... Can't beat that agility. It's like adderall

16 RepliesI think you lie to yourself. The MIDA is the exact opposite of handcannons - fast, weak, ranged, easy to use. So there is no way you ever loved handcannons. You were just holding onto an image. The green Mitternacht scout would have been your weapon. More over, I can tell you why it's called the "MIDA Multi-Trash". Because it lacks power. No matter how awesome running fast is, what matters primarily is that you kill as many enemies as fast as possible. And MIDA can't do that very well. Fatebringer and TLW/Thorn/H-Moon do that. In fact, you're a LIABILITY to your team if you give up both your Gjallarhorn and Fatebringer slots for... What? For running faster away from your enemy, leaving the work to the team mates? Or dieing among the enemy crowd, as getting in close fast with a long-range weapon is a good way to get you killed? No offense, I understand why you like it, but I hate it as it's a giant... noob magnet. Please consider it a fun weapon and don't bring it into strikes, PvP and raids (except for Abyss). Thank you and enjoy it! =)

3 RepliesEdited by pu33lefactory: 3/27/2015 5:18:07 PMMida is pretty good (i picked it up today) but hand cannons are my favourite weapon. Nothing packs a punch like a hand cannon (primary weapons that is). I would much rather be able to take an enemy out with 1 (or 2) shots than 3,4,5 (or an entire clip, in the case of auto rifles now).
-
Yeah for my hunter I sometimes use gunslinger and the stability perk gunslingers trance will kill
-
Love the mida, use it all the time, unless I'm running icebreaker, then I switch to my explosive/firefly rapier. Alway ran hand cannons until they cut the range and I got mida. Wish I could get a 331 red hand IX. My 300 one is awesome still on strikes. Love mida with agility builds. Great for soloing the lamp room with hunter. So fast! :)

Think the reason people don't like it is because it is a "jack of all trades," as you mentioned above. Want to have insanely fast TTK, snappy handling and style? TLW Want to CRUSHSLAY anything that stands in your way with a JACKHAMMEROFGOD? Hawkmoon** Want to instantly become more difficult to deal with in every encounter and add survival-risk in every situation? Thorn Want to...generally be good at just about everything, but not really do well at any particular playstyle? MIDA Yes, it's a great weapon. You can configure it for many encounters. Still though, I'll keep with my handcannons. They fit particular situations better than a jack of all trades.

I'll probably give it another go the next Iron Banner. I've had more success with Hand Cannons though.
-
The MIDA is one amazing weapon. Probably my favorite scout rifle. I could only imagine how much more amazing it would be with Firefly :P
-
2 RepliesI don't think I'm going to buy it. I love my hawkmoon and I got the iron banner scout with good perks as a drop. Sometimes I need to use my ice breaker.
-
Its a good gun..but sounds weedy..and the impact is a tad weak
-
7 RepliesMida sucks lol. Much prefer my handcannons. With pin point accuracy, nothing compares. I'd rather hit 1.9k/2.2k a shot with Timur's Lash with crowd control, than barely 1k with MIDA Gheleon's Demise also 3 shots in Crucible sooooo no need for that garbage.
-
I love it
-
Mida is beast in crucible. If u take the patience and time to learn to use it u could be a thorn in anyone's side
-
Shut up dude! We can't let everyone in on our secret. ;) I learned to love this weapon really on since it was the only exotic that would drop for me for a long time. Like seriously, seven of them.
-
Shhhhh, the MIDA is a secret!
-
2 RepliesI started Destiny as a devout Scout Rifle enthusiast. Love my Rapiers and Mida. But then I got Fatebringer and Thorn... I havent used a Scout Rifle in Months.
