i have never played any of the fallout games before, i have seen comments calling it skyrim with guns(lel). Is there an order in which i should play them. Im leaning towards Fallout 3 and New Vegas because those two really stand out. Should i just jump in to any game?

1 ReplyStart with 1 and 2, Tactics is optional. I started with the first two before 3 and NV and while I think 3 is the pinnacle of the series, the originals are great in their own ways too. It depends as there are some mentions and nods to the originals in 3 and NV. Just know that 1 and 2 are overhead strategy games, very dated by today's standards, but worth a playthrough. If you don't know who the Vault Dweller or Frank Horrigan are, you are no true Fallout fan...

Although subjective, I think the first two are the better games. Fallot 3 and New Vegas are drastically different from the original titles.

Well, the old Fallouts before 3 and NV are drastically different, as they are not developed or published by Bethesda. If you want a more modern feel, start with 3, then play NV.

Play Fallout 4 Oh wait..
umadfalloutfags?
3. NV is optional, but only after playing 3.

1-2 are on pc. 3 and NV on consoles aswell as pc. I personally recommend 3 then NV. I also very much recommend getting the game of the year editions with all the dlc.

The stories are different from each other but set in the same universe. Try the first ones to get to know the universe and then move on the modern ones like F3 and New Vegas.

Edited by JG WENTWORTH 877 CASH NOW: 2/9/2015 4:59:32 AMIt doesn't matter. Their stories aren't liked together. Edit: Well, for Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Can't tell for the others, haven't played them.

Start with 1 if you want to play them all but 3 if you just want to play the modern ones

Fallout 2.
