No, no, no. Very bad idea for Destiny if trading becomes 'freely' allowed. As frustrated as you might be by the RNG loot system, surely the idea of being handed what you want will ruin the fun in wanting it? Where's the fun in continuing to play? Be honest, when got the Gjallahorn, Vex, Suros, Fatebringer etc. how did you feel? You felt happy but then you felt somehow empty didn't you? You asked yourself 'what next' didn't you? Trading will kill the addictive nature of the game which is why most people play it in the first place.
Now, having said that, trading with the other 2 members of your fireteam following a strike/nightfall etc. COULD work but needs careful thought.
What do Guardians think?

Edited by caiowned1308: 1/29/2015 5:14:48 PMTrade only allowed for your fireteam by a limited time (5h for example). After that, item will be "binded to account". Also, if you start to upgrade the item, it'll be "binded to account" too This system could be the best in terms of public acceptance. Edit: no free trading and/or "auction house" system. This would ruin the game

If they ever do I'll sell my extra Gjallarhorn for real money lol.

Trading would be accompanied by implementing "bind on pickup" and "bind on equip" tags to drops. Which would mean that if you got the gun you want while playing your titan you couldn't switch it over to your Hunter/Lock because it's bound to the character that received it.

Couldn't have said it better, totally agree with you

I agree with you. Trading with other fire team members who were present for the drop within a limited time of said drop could work. I would caution against free trading or an auction system.

Bungie will not implement trading.. A lot of mmo nerds think this is an mmo but bungie confirmed its not an mmo so therefore no trading

Weapons should be automatically set into tier values. Each tier contains weapons of rank For example Gjallarhorn would be the highest exotic tier due to its power No land beyond however would be on the lowest exotic tier There should also be a system in place that weapons of equal upgrade level could increase the tier value, For example if NLB is a tier 5 weapon (not wanted, shit and just not sought after) if the person owning it fully upgrades it, the value of the weapon would increase making it a tier 4 weapon. This means that people would put work into upgrading their weapons in order to get the greatest benefit from the trading system

The only system I can see working is by giving the ability for fireteam members to exchange mission rewards before returning to orbit with, as you said, careful attention to ensure proper balance.. Completely agree with this post.
Now, having said that, trading with the other 2 members of your fireteam following a strike/nightfall etc. COULD work but needs careful thought.
There is the most simple answer you will find. Were you in my fireteam when I got it? Yes. You and I can trade. No? Sorry. It bolsters the community aspect of the game and improves CLAN membership as well as cooperation.

to answer your question i didnt feel any different getting those things as before i got them. i dont base my happiness on what ive acquired or not acquired in a game world.

Trading would only work if Destiny's loot system changed. Weapons would need to have more randomized stats so that people will constantly be wanting upgrades. If Glimmer is allowed in trades, then the Glimmer cap would probably need to be raised. I don't like the idea of Trading in Destiny because I feel too many people get copies of the same gun all the time. It would only be viable if you are limited to only owning one type of a gun at a time.

I think maybe borrowing. Like u know a buddy that has gally, u wanna do hard raid, u borrow, and when u log off, it goes back to original owner, buttttttt, people will figure out how to duplicate items and there will be 7 gallys in everyone's vault before bungie catches it.
