Just something that's been driving me nuts. I'd like to get more perspective on this. All my friends and coworkers, and even people online call the Nightfall the Nightfall, but the Heroic the Weekly. I refer to both as the Weeklies (the Nightfall and Heroic), but get guff for doing so. Why is it that people started referring to it this way? Do you do it? Isn't it clear that one is the Weekly Nightfall and one is the Weekly Heroic?

Daily Weekly Nightfall Get good kid.

Clap like you did in elementary school to learn what syllables are. Night-fall (*clap clap*). Week-ly (*clap clap*). Her-o-ic (*clap clap clap*). Two claps saves so much time. Yay!

Seriously? Nightfall Weekly Daily Am I missing the issue at hand here?
-
I do this because it doesn't bother me... As when someone say do you want to do the weekly.. I know they mean te heroic...
-
I find myself doing it, but usually because i start with nightfall. And "the weekly" doesn't feel right to me :)
-
Developers and what not called it the weekly heroic prior to release
-
Is this like those guys that got mad because we called Atheons portals Mars and Venus. Every though you completed Mars bounties in the Mars one and Venus bounties in the Venus one.
-
referring to both as "weekly" would be confusing, and would require further clarification. on the other hand, assuming you've established that weekly refers to Weekly Heroic and Nightfall refers Weekly Nightfall, no further clarification is needed. Daily would then refer to Daily Heroic. Therefore once the above premise has been established, every mode has one simple word to be referred to as.

It isn't the nightfall.
-
Because there are heroic weeklies and dailies.
-
You're stupid
-
It comes every week
-
Nightfall sounds better than weekly, and weekly rolls off the tongue easier than heroic
-
Who cares? It's like anything with a weird name or even a misnomer. People just do it and others follow suit

2 RepliesBecause that is the word they differ by

2 RepliesBecause it's a weekly heroic you dumb shit. You do it once a week. It is a weekly endeavor with heroic modifier. Why would this upset you?

There's also daily heroic missions, so from what I've noticed is people calling them weekly, daily, and nightfall.

Weekly Nightfall Weekly Heroic

Well, I'd imagine you get guff for calling two things the same thing. At any rate if you start to notice a naming convention, regardless of whether or not you agree with it, either just go with it or propose there to be a change in the naming convention: i.e., "hey let's call the heroic the heroic and the nightfall the nightfall. " Just be sure it's known and you'd be surprised how easily things will catch on after a short pow-wow, provided that it's agreeable.

1 ReplyWell to be simple you have daily heroic and weekly heroic, you also have the weekly Nightfall. A natural shortening of the titles would be daily, weekly and Nightfall. Kind of like calling someone Jen when their name is Jennifer. Is this really that complicated of a concept?
