So I was on Twitch tv this one time and found this Destiny stream where a hunter was annihilating with Thorn in PVP, I asked him about his set up and it turned out he's using a keyboard and mouse. How is this set up fair for people using a controller?
Btw here's the stream: http://www.twitch.tv/vibez87
HERE'S WHAT"S CONSIDERED A BANNABLE OFFENSE PLEASE READ:
http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929
It states that things like modified console hardware (like an adapter) is banned.
Edit: every PC gamer knows keyboard and mouse is superior to controllers. That's why it's an unfair advantage, and to allow it where the majority is clearly expecting the other player to be using a controller when that is not the case is just deceitful.
Edit: crap like this don't even hurt me. It hurts the game and it's longetivity, no one wants to play a game that people can exploit freely whether it's PVE or PVP. So, if you don't agree, it doesn't matter soon this game will just be an afterthought

Edit: a lot of people think this is about using K+M. It is not. It is about using it in PvP against the average controller user. It is a huge advantage. No one is saying the best console player can't stand toe to toe with a K+M user but your average controller user will definitely lose most of the times.
All the cry baby KBM wannabes in this thread are trying to justify their bad behavior. If Destiny PVP is so inconsequential then why would you spend hundreds of dollars to get the a KBM set up. Ooh that bit of cognitive dissonance got you huh . Birds of the same feather flock together and it seems all the scumbag cheaters of Destiny have come to the aid of their king
So this is what Vibez think of people who refuse to spend the money so they can get on his level.
Yes maybe if it was actual PC gaming, it would, but since my turn rate is limited exactly the same as controller and I am stuck at 30 FPS with the rest of you peasants, your comparisons don't mean shit!
Stop trying to act like you know what you are talking about please, it is embarrassing for us all
Does my method of enjoyment really cause you so much pain?
If it's not to your liking why don't you play another FPS game title on the PC with others who have the same set up instead of picking in controller users who you have an unfair advantage against
Facts: Keyboard + mouse is not a supported device you have to purchase an adapter on his case it's the Xim which costs about $124. You use a smartphone to configure settings. You can make any excuse you want but this sounds like modding to me
This has nothing to do with your preferences but rather your need to be noticed on this game for all the wrong reasons.
Til the time keyboard and mouse become standard devices on consoles, hooking it up so you can demolish players using controllers in the Crucible to feed your ego or some sense of having achieved something is plain dick-ish and considered cheating. If anyone can make any coherent counter argument then make it. Having the "opportunity" to buy it isn't a counter argument since I'm sure most people are either reluctant to spend their hard earned money so they can compete with scums like you, and most are even naive that such devices actually exist. Saying Scuf controllers are allowed isn't a legitimate reason either because these are still in essence controllers with extra buttons, if you can't grasp the concept of the difference between aiming with a joystick on a controller and aiming a mouse then that's your bad.
This argument could be so easily resolved if only Bungie could make a statement on their stance in the subject. If they say it's allowed to attach said adapter to the system then I'll concede.
Within the language of the advertisement for a KBM adapter it states that the adapter is:
"Undetectable
With most modded controllers it’s possible to be detected using a mods or rapider fire online; then you could find yourself banned. That’s no fun. This can be an annoying and frustrating nuisance with most modded controllers. However, the manufacturers of Titan One have said that their device cannot be detected online and that it’s completely invisible."
EVEN IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THESE ADAPTERS IT DECLARES THAT THESE DEVICES ARE BANNABLE OFFENSE
I believe we're finish here.

I cant read paragraphs ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )

4 RepliesCheating. You're using unconventional means outside of the game and system itself to allow for a incredible advantage. It's the same as a nodded controller which is as well, cheating. The only varying factor should be TV display, which they couldn't balance if they wanted to.

3 RepliesControllers have deadspots, 800+ dpi mouses do not. Plain and simple.
-
It is cheating no doubt about it. Would ypu be allowed to this at a competition?
-
Only legit way to play is with your feet, any thing else is scrub city.
-
16 RepliesHaving a bigger screen is cheating because the targets are so much bigger and easier to hit.
-
My 2cents: the sensitivity restrictions on destiny would mean it would yield little measurable advantage. Non issue, in my opinion.
-
If it was cheating hen smn would be banned by now
-
4 RepliesIs it allowed by the developer? If so, it's not cheating
-
Your link and those rules don't allow game assets and other stuff. That mean that stuff like control freaks are not allowed (which a lot people are using) and also those pesky scuf controller that many pro competitors are using. Hose rules are just there to keep Bungies back free.
-
It is blatantly cheating yes
-
I fully agree with you my friend

7 RepliesKeyboard and mouse is not legit on consoles and is not allowed for online game play by most developers and can be a bannable offense if caught using them.
-
12 Repliesid say it more like "cheaping" but thats just me people that use KBandM are either pc players wanting to play destiny or cheap -blam!-s that want easy wins but i dont think its bannable
-
It's cheating. People who don't think so are just cheaters themselves more than likely. It's modding controller inputs to the console. If the console can't play with it without a third party mod kit, it's modding. Period.

4 RepliesEdited by Rick: 7/6/2015 2:58:30 PMLOL @ everyone in this thread that thinks translating keyboard and mouse input into controller input using an adapter is the same thing as native keyboard and mouse support in PC. This device, if anything, puts you at a disadvantage. You are not aiming 1:1 like using a mouse on PC. You are translating mouse inputs to stick inputs, which is incredibly inaccurate and cumbersome.
-
It's stupid
will definitely lose most of the time
Are stick extenders cheating? If not, then what about stick extenders that are 2" long? 4"? 12"? 36"? The point is - why are 0.5" stick extenders okay, but 3 or 12 inch isn't? Who decides? And why? Doesn't everyone have access to same thing? M&KB adapters are just 72" stick extenders. It's math, not hacking, or magic.

Wow, you are a true noob

If you're saying that you don't have an advantage because you're limited by the game's sensitivity and aim assist. You do realize that controller lose a lot of accuracy at high sensitivity and aim assist affect us as much as it does you. KBs is still easier to aim with at high sensitivity. Aim assist was developed to compensate for the controllers disadvantage when it comes to aiming. At this point you're like a billionaire who doesn't feel rich because they're not a trillionaire

5 RepliesComing from a former pc gammer of 15+ years. KB and mouse is totally unfair. I could stand in 1spot on crucible with an IB and pick everyone of 1 by 1 no problem. Hell it sounds fun, reminds me of CS and an AWP. They should be banned. If not screw it I'll buy a xim4 and join them.

It states that things like modified console hardware (like an adapter) is banned.
A USB adapter is not modified console hardware. If that was the case, using your USB cable to charge would be considered "modified." Now, if you had to open the Xbox One up, do some soldering to get it to work, then you have a case for "modified console hardware." But just an adapter, you don't.

While I understand where you are coming from OP I disagree. Take an example from PC gaming and games like cod, being a big PC gamer I have an eyefinity setup. I play my PC games over 3 monitors at a resolution of 5760x1080, problem is games like cod don't support this fov properly. We end up having to use a mod to force the game to allow the proper fov. It's not because it's cheating but because the devs don't find it worth there time to support. As far as I'm concerned these xim adapters should be completely allowed, just as my Eyefinity gives me way more view of a battlefield if you can afford the better hardware why should you not be allowed to use it? Or even a gaming mouse and keyboard vs someone else's $20 walmart combo. Now dont take this as an attack, take it as an opinion from a PC gamer who understand that in the real world more money means better hardware which means the advantage.

9 RepliesOk I just read the part about spending hundreds of dollars. How is buying a $20 keyboard "spending hundreds"?
