The Different Types of Destiny Raiders

The different types of Destiny players I've met when finding random groups through lfg for VoG: The Weed-man: can't stop talking about how high he is, how great his weed is, and constantly broadcasts himself coughing. Usually really bad at the game and doesn't do anything he is supposed to do. The "Experinced" know-it-all: joins and tells everyone how amazing they are at the game/VoG, and then proceed to suck so bad they continually wipe the group for hours. "I cleared hard mode this week like 10 times bro, I know what I'm doing." The Distracted Guy: responds about 20% of the time to requests made by the group to do certain tasks in the raid. Always responds with "yeah I'm here" in the rare case that they do respond. Proceed to do their own thing and are dead 95% of the time. The Rage Quitter: plays with the group until there's a wipe or something doesn't go their way. They don't say anything but just drop the Fireteam. The Good Raider: the rarest person to find. They know what to do, are patient, and don't freak out when someone dies but instead helps recover and move on. Sometime you get people who fit into more than one type as well.

  • types of raiders: The Fan/ Broken mic: Whether its a chip bag ruffling, or annoying munching, you always have to ask them to fix their mic. just as you're trying to call rockets this guys making noise. Please return your cost-co headset (or kinect), and buy a silent fan. The Sherpa/ Dictator: The Sherpa is a guide, someone who can give direction with patience until Crotas dead. The Dictator is an intolerant piece of s*** that joins midway and starts barking orders, trying to force the team to use HIS strategy. The Kid/ Squeaker: This little guy is always catching hate, cause his nads haven't dropped yet, sad thing's that destiny's rated teen. The Squeaker may or may not do his job, he's the annoying kid that dies on the way to ogres. Most kids are chill this kids hyped up. The Sword god/ Pro: You don't want to raid with a self proclaimed "Sword god" (XBL Broken) they spam LFG with book sized posts about their 500+ Crota kills. They must be compensating for the lack of day-job, girlfriend, and social life, by running sword all day. The Pro is a cool dude that can chat while also getting the job done, he never brags since his skill shines and speaks for itself. The Noob/ Carried: This is your friend who asks to carry them through Crota hm at level 29, as soon as they reach 30 they ask again. The Noob will waste 2 hours of your time and then quit, which is a blessing since they are always the first to die. The Carried will get slashed by a knight in the crystal room and remain there for the duration of the fight until they get gally and crux. Then they tweak and leave without thanking anyone. The Average joe: This is you, This is me, this is the category you'll want to be in, someone who doesn't quit, puts in work for the team (dies once or twice) and thanks the group at the end, you're the backbone of the team, and for that I thank you, Guardian! The Whiner/ Blamer This little rat is never satisfied “aw i didn’t get anything!” or “what a waste of time!”. grumbling and bringing a sense of hopelessness to the team. The Blamer, “Someone pushed me off!!” or “_____ just died!” "LAAAAG!" this kid can’t own up to anything. The Silent: Did he say something? The Helper: The good helper enjoys when others get their rewards (they’re usually sb) and likes to make friends. The selfish helper makes sure everybody knows he doesn’t need rewards and that he’s “helping”, hes impatient and gets frustrated when you mess up. The Stoner/ Alcoholic: Has to hit the bong every 5 minutes, or even worse announces it every time he takes a dab. The alcoholic has to grab a beer every 5 minutes, or even worse announces that he’s enjoying his rum and coke. The Foreigner: This guys always mumbling about a strategy, but nobody can understand him… sometimes he makes a joke but unfortunately nobody gets it, at least he’s friendly. The Quitter: not a full team- quits no gjallarhorn- quits can’t be sword bearer- quits team fails first try- quits Let him go he's a detriment! The Clown: Why did crota cross the road? Yo momma was so fat the gorgon spotted her from orbit! Id tell you a joke about gally, but only half of you’d get it. This guy cracks me up, but sometime needs to get his s*** together and finish the raid. The Retired: He has all the raid guns (no gally) and is bored with raiding, you can find him running strikes or kicking azz in the crucible. He’ll occasionally help his friends out with a raid but you won’t find him helping randoms like The Helper, Pro, or Sherpa. The ******: Every time you run into this pile of s*** you know its not going to end well. Avoid him. He’ll start problems with anyone, he has the worst qualities of every type… He’s not even good! The Troll: Oh no Swordbearer jumps off at 1 hit left on crota... Maybe he kills himself with a rocket on the last run... Watch out for a titan placing a bubble in mid as the whole team fires rockets. This guy will screw you over, he could be anyone. This is a re-post of something I wrote before... So which raider are you?

The Silent One - Never speaks but is probably the best player in the team The No Life - Has 100 + raids completed and know where all the oracles spawn exactly to where they start shooting the spot before it appears The Diva - Tries to hold back the team by starting a drama that distracts everyone but they can't kick him/her because he/she is the is the fireteam leaders friend The Carried - They eventually get better but their first few raids is when they are carried the Normal VoG as a 23 and first CE raid as a 27 The Misleading Poster - In LFG they usually say "looking for swordbearer Crota CP" but they don't specify the difficulty and someone ends up joining to be a swordbearer for normal (Xbox One) The Multitasker - Snaps TV and puts less attention on the raid or snaps another app The Busy Raider - While doing the raid, this raider ends up needing to do something every 5 minutes The Cheeser - Wants to cheese every single part of the raid The Strict Raider - Wants to do ever single part of the raid legit The Bragger - Talks about how he has 10 Gjallarhorns and gets the Vex Mythoclast every time but ends up being the worst player there and relies on his good weapons that probably aren't even leveled up yet to get him through the raid The Retired Raider - This is a raider who doesn't do much of the raids anymore since they have everything they need from it. They sometimes help out a friend with a raid or goes back into a raid because he/she has some time to pass The Blabber Mouth - Never shuts up and is usually the fireteam leader I'm the retired, no life, silent raider

    • Funny. I know a "weed-man" that is one of the best players I have met. The guy is seriously a one man army. They are usually exactly how you described them though.

    • The Teacher- A great guy who enjoys teaching others about the raid. He enjoys playing with Newbies and is usually fairly experienced and patient. The Newbie- Somebody who has never done the raid before. They are usually found near Teachers for obvious reasons. The Communist- That guy who keeps arguing that everyone should have a totally equal spot on the team, and that nobody should run anything solo. They never last long on fireteams. The Elitist- They tend to be very experienced at raids and are usually patient and nice to the people around them. They are very rare, unfortunately. The Crappy Elitist- They are the extremely experienced people who always post, "NEED 5 SELF RES WARLOCKS WITH MAXED FATEBRINGER AND GJALLY!" Don't make these posts. The Not-So Elitist- The person who says how amazing they are and then fails over and over. They often blame failure on lag or even their own teammates. We all know they are lying. Don't be this person. The Casual- The best category, the people who don't want to make anybody feel bad and simply want to get the raid done. Try to be this person. The One that we all Hate- The Know it Alls. These are the people that will share every, single, detail about the section of the raid that you are doing, including the person who designed the section and what flavour of cheese is Crota's favourite. These people are typically disliked and tend to be annoying.

    • The Mr. Excuse - always blame lag or something else other than himself when he dies. The Silent One - doesn't talk alot -salt dog - doesn't talk but experienced -newbie - no idea what's going on and doesn't even asks. The Hitler - wants everybody to do exactly what he says. Even when his strat aint working he will insist on doing it since thats the only thing he knows. Mr. Theory - this guy have awsome theories or plans but he always ends up the first to fail the plan. PRO - plays whatever strat the team wants and do great on anything. Mr. I only know - only know how to do 1 part of a specific stage. Eg. I only know how to shoot oracles, or i can only do boomer duty. The Pervert - whenever there's a girl in the team he makes weird or sensual comments or questions. The Hype - always hyped up for no reason. Mr. BRB - will afk most of the time and says he is doing something real quick. Seriously..... The Kid - guys my mom's here.. has left the party. Mr. High standards - always ask for ghorn or level 34 players to do VOG normal/hard. The Overkill Guy - shoots a ghorn at anything that moves. Super Annoying Raider - keeps on punching/slapping you in the face the whole raid. The Desperate - urges team to keep trying even if they have been at the raid for 5 hours. Unmotivated Guy - team wipes for the second time and he tells the team "yeah we can't do this". No Faith - doesn't have faith to his teamates and asks them to wipe once he dies. The Unprepared - didn't bring maxed weapons or uses a fusion rifle at atheon. Red Bar - can't last 5 minutes w/out being disconnected Jellybean - always gets jelly when someone gets good drops. RNGesus - before every drop he says what he wants and majority of the time he gets it. Left Behind - always gets lost or gets crappy drops. The PTSD guy - gets mad for no reason at all. I love Shards - gets shards or energies the whole raid.
