I don't see the big deal as to how people got their gear. As long as you get what you need why does it matter how people got theirs as most of the drops are random.... I'm currently finishing up my first exotic bounty and I'll be happy with my weap even if others have it.
Can someone break it down for me, I jus don't get why using coins that you found to buy a specific exotic is soooo much worse than randomly finding an exotic somewhere else?

Please reference Diablo 3 when it first came out, and up until now.

Because people think that getting an exotic as a random drop is earning it instead of just being lucky. The crying over the Suros Regime was great.
-
I just like to play the game and get what I can any way I can.

2 RepliesI'm personally sick of this argument. Been hearing it non stop in WoW since vanilla. All the elitists feel if you can't sink all your spare time into raiding you shouldn't get gear. But on that note they've had purple gear from vendors with currency for a long time. Which is to enable people who don't have the time to raid to still progress in the game. Not everyone has the time or the luck to get the gear they need and or want.

2 RepliesIdk I never hate on him I got 12 shards out of buying stuff from him
-
3 RepliesBecause we don't earn our gear, the only way to earn it as big boys is to get a random lucky drop according to some people.
-
Because the lucky people want to stay special little snowflakes, even though Xur has absolutely zero impact on them if they don't want him to. They actually just want to stop other people from having fun.
-
bc they have something they dont want anybody else to have...bunch of spoiled little brats are the only ones I see ask for the vendor gone.

2 RepliesPeople complain about anything.

The Snowflake Children lost their place on their imaginary pedestal and feel like RNGesus has abandoned them. It's always the same in any game that uses MMO-Style weapon/gear items. As soon as other people have their gear, it's suddenly, "F U n00bZ! I earned my gear, you didn't! L34rn to ply!" They have this strange paranoia that the game was created, molded, developed, designed, etc to them. They don't even know how to complain about properly. For them, they're Elite MLG players while others are still "srubz" who don't know how to play. I could careless. Whether you got the item from Xur or from an engram through an already lousy reward system (because getting a reward from completing a task means you're the Hardcorest of the Hardcorest) doesn't make you any less or more of a player. It's still just a game and everyone is welcomed to play it. Let them complain.

8 RepliesXur is an exact contradiction of becoming and feeling legendary, as Bungie likes to put it. The only way to feel like you are legendary in a game that is missing any sort of back story and sense of adventure achievement, is the ability to stand out based on Rare items acquired. If everyone has them they are no longer Rare nor do you feel at all legendary. If I spend hours in VOG hardmode grinding out deaths over and over, to finally beat it and get Vex Mytho I feel epic. Then Friday morning rolls around and Vex Mytho is on the Xur for 23 coins that took a maximum 60 minutes to acquire over 2 days, across 2 weeks something is way -blam!-in off. Time waiting should not = Time playing

3 RepliesI bought the Helm of Saint-14 this morning. It looks badass. I had horrible luck with legendary engrams giving me crap or just getting a legendary drop anywhere. I worked for this helmet and I'm glad I had enough coin to get it.

2 RepliesI think the problem stems from the lack of variety in gear. This game is fairly sad in the actual variety of available items you can obtain. I think all the Xur complaints would be solved if he had his own loot table outside of what you can find from engrams, but as it is now it kind of sucks to find a weapon to just have him selling it the next day.

First World problems....

Im complaining about xur selling degrade gear, i bought sunbreakers today only to find out they were a ripoff. Let me explain sorry cant post pictures but here is the story: today the sunbreakers have 77 intellect stats i was like that fine but i found out he sold sunbreakers with 90 intellect stats on first week. I was like wtf .

I like all of his "curios" and I don't have a problem with him selling exotic armor and weapons. What I do think they should do in this regard is just have him sell 4 or so (say two of the three weapon groups and two of the four armors) exotic engrams for coins over motes instead of the straight up gear. It would be a little frustrating to those who only want to run one character class but it would create a lot more variety in the game world instead of 80% of players rocking the same exotic the week he has it for sale and flooding the game world with it.

There is nothing wrong with buying or random drop. All in all we still earn everything. Lol I had a exotic sniper and a legendary engram drop at the end of the vanguard tiger strike. Felt good! Lol

Because the "unique" players of destiny want something to live for, like their precious red death or suros. Now they are no longer special and have to return to normal life...of playing a video game....?

Criers gonna cry

People are cry babies.

3 RepliesBecause people get salty when they see the weapon they have that came in a random enegram being sold for anyone to carry around. It's just that moment when you thought you had something unique and special, but it turns out it's really just a well polished turd.
