75% of all the legendaries are gated behind pvp rep / crucible marks
Almost all of the exotic bounties have difficult pvp steps
Thorn – Exotic Handgun -- Kill Guardians in the Crucible using void damage. Deaths slow your progress greatly!
Bad Juju – Exotic Pulse Rifle -- Fight in the Crucible and obtain 10,000 points and have a kill to death ratio above 1-1
Invective – Shotgun -- Fight in the Crucible and achieve 25 more kills than deaths.
Fate of All Fools – Exotic Scout Rifle -- Multiple PvP steps
Every special event that has occurred is occurring or is scheduled to occur is pvp oriented
Salvage - PvP
Combined Arms - PvP
Queen's Wrath - PvP/PvE
Iron Banner - PvP
I thought Queen's bounty was going to be a pure pve event, but alas 3 out of the 4 bounties for today are, you guessed it, pvp bounties.
Why the extreme bias in favor of pvp when this game was touted as a shared world, rpg style loot, exploration heavy, "play your way" kind of game?
If you're going to have all these pvp events and do nothing for the pvers you're cutting yourselves off at the knees, and the description of the game offered by Bungie feels misleading.
Possible solutions:
Give bounties dual objectives, 1 that's pvp centric and 1 that's pve centric and allow the player to choose which way to finish the bounties.
Open up all of the vendors to both currencies.
I understand that recycling PvP which kind of creates its own content is easier than creating something new for PvE, but I'd be happy even with a recycled content PvE event mixed in with all of the PvP events. Queen event is the best attempt at that thus far, but all of the other events are purely focused on PvP and it just feels as though the PvE is being jilted.

I'm a lvl 28, ALL my legendary gear was acquired by PvE. I've capped out my vanguard marks twice, and working on my third time this week. Yes I've played crucible, and no I do not enjoy it, does not mean I have to play it and still be a high rank and enjoy the game. They have daily challenges, the glass raid, and strikes for us PvE people. To say they cater to PvP players is asinine. And if you're wanting legendary gear that bad... go spam the loot cave. Give it a solid two hours and you'll have some legendry equipment of your own. Or go play the story again on a higher difficulty, try 20+, you'll at least come away with some strange coins and modes of light, then you can buy yourself to happiness this weekend when Xur comes

4 RepliesPVE is boring, you should really play the superior PVP.
-
exactly how I feel op. I hate pvp and I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. all these bounties are geared for pvp.
-
Shhhh... relax. Now open your mouth and tilt your head back.
-
6 RepliesThey should just remove the marks all together and make everything purchasable with glimmer. There's already limits to purchase via rep rank, why further complicate things with the marks? If it were strictly rep/glimmer, you could play how you choose, representing whichever faction you choose. As it is, It's a convoluted system requiring lots of time, unnecessarily strict caps/time-gates in between, and little or no reward (depending on how the dials of the slot machine land).
-
Actually from what I've seen, all legendary items, shaders, etc that you would typically purchase with crucible marks are also available to find in PvE. I've found several through engrams. Identical items of what the crucible vendors sell.

Edited by TrueGunShotta: 9/24/2014 6:45:19 PMI agree, I was expecting more PVE content aswell... but with that said all exclusive "PvP" legendary items and exotics can be obtained by simply farming the loot cave. Legendary (and even blue engrams) have the chance to give you exotic, legendary, and faction exclusive rewards. I got my vanquisher VII from a blue engram, when it's supposed to be a new monarchy rifle. I haven't lvled up my new monarchy a single point. So, what I'm saying is all items, be it PVP or PVE can be obtained by simply farming engrams. The best gear, though, is the raid gear and can only be obtained inside the raid. I hope they keep it that way.
-
Well, what else would you like shoved down your throat? Cause somethings gotta go down there..
-
Just play pvp it's not that hard.
-
They can stop shoving the raids down the crucible players throats then, because if you haven't heard the only known way to get to level 30 is with raid set armour.
-
I'd be happy to get ANY exotic bounty...
-
7 RepliesI will never be able to buy anything from one of the factions because they require pvp and I have no interest in pvp whatsoever
-
I'm not a big fan of the queens PvP bounties. The normal PvP bounties such as kill so many of a class, or kill with head shots, or get so many certain medal I'm fine with.
-
1 ReplyAnd people thought this game was catering for casuals... Lol.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Ezimatana: 9/24/2014 5:33:08 PMGosh, I really hate how Bungie always shoves PvE down my throat! I hate PvE! I get an exotic bounty, bam 25 strikes, I get a queen's bounty: bam do story mode. There's more to this game than just PvE! Why does Bungie make us do these things for better rewards?
-
5 RepliesYou have valid points but I believe that Bungie's intent was for you to team up when facing difficult challenges. Let's get a group of 4-6, and play some crucible, help each other figure it out. Ive got two exotic bounties that require PvP kills. I feel it's a lack of understanding how the PvP works in Destiny...
-
7 RepliesOf course they want us PVE players in PVP, it gives the PVP players an easy target. When I go into the Crucible my Gamer tag changes to DEAD MEAT.
-
I know right, the extra PvE content is coming out after PvP so I'm going to cancel my pre-order
-
3 RepliesI disagree, casually yesterday allmost the bounties were pve, if you hate pvp then why not wait untill the reestock or just call it a day. Today if there is a option to make 1 person happy 3 will hate that option, why people have to go a moan and cry for everything, hell even myself had a rainstorm of errors the first night i try to play but i didnt go to the forum ASAP to tell everybody i was frustated. No hate to anyone but come on you cant always have your ways in everything thats life.
-
5 RepliesEdited by skittlez86: 9/24/2014 5:19:29 PMi can't even do one of the Queen's bounty's because i need the class item the shader and the emblem, and i can't even buy them yet because im not even rank one, hell i don't think anyone can be rank one yet wtf bungie
-
4 RepliesI agree. Right now, PVP is dead to me. 1) because I don't get rewarded good loot while the low levels with terrible K/D get the good loot. 2) Because I hate PVP, and not because I suck (Check my K/D if you don't believe me) and because I want to play the game my own way. I love vanguard bounties, but the crucibles ones... nope. I got the exotic bounty for the thorn, I completed it and saw how shitty the gun was, I dismantled it and added the energy to the pile so that when I get Hard Light (Which by the looks of it will be NEVER) I have the materials to fully upgrade it. I haven't seen an event focused on PVE. Keep up with this strategy and you will lose a fair amount of your Destiny player base. (And your loot system isn't helping either).
-
1 ReplyI agree. I play pvp some to change it up a little but i just suck at it so its not that fun for me. Im sure im not the only one
-
Personally, I think Bungie is balancing the PvP and the PvE in a favorable way. I am by no means a PvPer. I am not very good at PvP, average at best when I get used to the PvP of a game and know the maps blah blah blah whatever. Why do Exotic bounties involve PvP? Because it is supposed to be hard to get them. You should have to do more to get them. You don't want to PvP, then don't do them. No one said anything about the Queen's even being pure PvE. That was purely speculation on your part. The game has tons of exploration. I know I haven't been to the basement of all the buildings in Old Russia yet... busy doing other things. The game is a shared-world shooter with RPG elements. You don't have to PvP at all... I have done like 2-3 games of PvP... The Queen's stuff has PvE, the bounties are slightly different and slightly challenging compared to the Vanguard bounties, but the missions are way more challenging, and quite honestly, your complaints are reaching quite a bit.
-
2 Repliesjust because you suck at pvp LOL
-
I'm confused, are you upset that some things in the game require some pvp, or are you upset that you want certain things in the game and you dont' want to pvp? Notice how the first thing is a passing observation and the second thing is you being a turd burger with no bun.

3 Replies75%...probably more like 50%. Vanguard marks and reps also let you buy Legendaries.
