what does DDOS attack mean?
My PsN was offline yesterday. I read that there will be maintenance on the 25th for the PSN. Today I read on the forum something about a DDOS attack. Please can someone explain?

Edited by Evil_Alliances: 8/25/2014 8:04:15 AMA DDOS attack is when a large group of people basically spam a server cluster/computer system with information requests. A sort of example would be like you're using your computer, then for some mysterious reason you decide to open all of your programs. this not only occupies your computers onboard ram (the place your computer uses to temporarily store information) but it also occupies your computers CPU and the processes it has to keep track of, locking up your computer making it essentially useless until you close the flood of information (the excess amount of programs in que) or restart the system. (Or by chance the people performing the attack deciding to stop/getting caught) Edit:silly me I forgot to tell you what the acronym meant lol. D.D.O.S= Distributed Denial Of Service.
