Bungie's ideas for Raids are for it to be insanely difficult! Much more challenging than any other FPS game. I don't understand why anyone would want to just login to Destiny and instantly think that you can complete a raid with anyone due to matchmaking. That's insane in itself! You must not comprehend the difficulty that Bungie set these Raids as! Raid matchmaking would only end in more Raids ending in failure, then you guys would either blame Bungie for the difficulty, blame them for bad matchmaking like some of you guys already do for pvp, or say something childish & say that Destiny has too many casual gamers. Raids are too be planned in advance, practiced with your friends, and completed through perfect friendly communication and teamwork. Matchmaking for Raids would have more rage quitters than in pvp, and think about yourself in a raid and you just lost a player! I would usually always go with what the community says about a game, but this time I'm glad they set it up like this. Now instead of constantly looking for friends to play with, once I find 1 or 2 great sets, that's it. Those will be the people that get my undivided attention in Destiny, and that will transfer over to other modes and eventually great friendships! I bet I have much more to say but I've dragged it out for too long already, I'll continue by replying to your guys comments.
Comment what you think below!
Come see a great compromise to satisfy both sides of Raid matchmaking!

1 ReplyIf Destiny is not made to let everyone who payed to play it, then why sell a game that everyone can buy!?!?!? Raids need to be made so everyone can do it in a normal amount of time and everyone can get the same gear. MM and more social aspects is what Destiny needs. Bungie dose not need to please the 10% who do not want MM they need to make it so everyone regardless of skill of play time can achieve the same ends in Destiny. Destiny is a game for everyone, right?????

5 RepliesHonestly I was pretty miffed when I first heard there was no matchmaking in raids. I felt locked out from end game content because I only had a few friends I know who will play Destiny. But I thought it over and realized that I wouldn't want to raid with randoms because they are usually useless anyways. So instead I'm making my own clan, to try and forge a small group of dependable players to play the end game content with. That's my solution anyways. In short I agree now that while adding matchmaking, so long as raids aren't dumbed down, will not take away from people who want to build raiding teams. If it's there I probably won't use it, but I don't see why others with no friends can't try, and knowing they will likely fail, to make it with a matchmaking raid team.

7 RepliesEdited by DEZARATH: 8/9/2014 7:13:07 PMIt's based on prior experiences with non matchmaking game modes. MM serves the long term player who wants to Raid consistently. When the Vault of Glass has been eclipsed by another raid you're going to find old and new players looking for other players wanting to take on that particular vault of glass raid at a disadvantage. You bugging your friendlist and clan mates at the start of a New Raid is easy. They want to go as well. But let's get a couple months into 2016. By then many players will have moved on. So what now? R3 every Tower visit and beg strangers to go play an old Raid? You got a very slim margin of success as this grows older. MM provides a pool of players who want to Specifically play that list. Proponents argue this is lazy. Well this is best chance for new player to Destiny just coming in say in 2017 to experience a Raid you've long forgotten. The wave of life has moved on and now it's down to say 700 players trying to find each other over multiple server Towers who actually want to complete that Raid. How? You've cut them off from each other? If they can't enter the area of the Raid's starting gate and hang around it, or there's no NPC RAID merchant to cluster around in the Tower how does one find other players who want to play a three year old Raid get together to do so? Come here? How many will do that out of 700? 20 perhaps. Then you have the regional issue. Loss of connection due to players being from Australia pairing up with guys from Argentina. Look MM is not there for Raids. Just saying randoms won't have a good time is nonsense. Like you really care if they do or don't. It's just little red numbers and trolling because it's an easy subject to milk. I saw them do this with ODST. Guess what. You can still get a match in Arcade Firefight today right now. ODST.... Anyone wanna play? One guy responds and that was lucky. Sure let's Play. LOL, how do we get two other players? That was an actual post that happened three days ago here on this site. Now imagine trying to get six players together years from now. But hey whatever. Let's go allready.
