Hi there everyone, this is just a question to gauge the role of the warlock in strikes as whenever I join a strike and theres a Hunter their kills are almost double mine or at worst over 100 kills more so I am just curious to know what others have experienced and if I have to work on how I go about playing in the strike.
Many thanks.

I'm Warlock and I've done the Strike about 10 maybe more times and I'm always top on kills, always... Mostly over 100 and the other two are on 70-80.. I don't think at this beta level class affects it, it's about who's accurate and dealing the most damage, and anyone can use any weapon.

Edited by MisterMagick: 7/21/2014 5:04:41 PMDepends on the player, I had more kills in Devils Lair then the other two players combined on my last run. Edit: as a warlock Edit edit : one was titan

I think it just depends on the player, I started up a Warlock account a couple of hours ago before the beta went offline, went into a strike as a level 5 and still came out ontop with kills. The Warlock has a more supportive Super and grenade than the Hunter, but it racks up kills extremely easily.

2 RepliesEdited by Kaiya Gray: 7/21/2014 4:21:12 PMWarlocks are definitely a support class, they are the kings and queens of AoE (area of effect). the general job of a warlock is to deal with "mobs" or "ads" these are the large groups of enemies that run into the fight. you'll want to use your vortex grenade or nova bomb to deal with these groups when they're bunched up, this will really up your kill rate and make the battles alot easier. You'll also want to master the glide ability, it gets alot better when you upgrade it for better control. You should use it to get from vantage point A to B and to gtfo away from enemies. It takes a bit to master but once you get it down it becomes a fundamental part of playing a warlock. This means learning the right times to descend or make a shot and then glide again. Harnessing your low health but high regen in battle you'll need to be ducking in and out of cover. You do some damage, quickly hide, glide over to another vantage point, mid glide throw your grenade or time a shot to descend, land where you want, rinse and repeat as the situation needs. You don't want your health getting into the red because this will drastically slow your regen time and you'll have to hide for longer and may miss out on moments you can take advantage of. The warlock is the scholar, you're smarter than everyone else, watch the battle, blend with it and control its flow. Also make the most of your slide and the ability to jump and reload at the same time, it's extremely useful for you.

I usually have the most kills in strike as a warlock, but it's really dependent on your shooting skills and not what class you are.

Im warlock and i always get more killz than hunters

Any class can be support. Titan has a deference shield.

I'm a warlock and I do seem to have more kills when playing with hunters or titans but not always. Maybe it is just you.

Always have most kills in Devils Lair. Scout rifle on any class should make you get tons of headshot kills.
-
As long as you get the strike done successfully what's it matter?

I always destroy in raids with my warlock I believe I've had around 220 kills in a single raid with one and 240 with my hunter. Use a scout rifle and pick them off in the head. Around 50% of your kills should be precise kills (Headshots)

Edited by Chuck9899: 7/21/2014 4:46:12 PMSame issue. Going to try a different class. Even with me personally liking the class and abilities it might not fit our play styles!?. Usually I have double or triple the kills assists tho! So maybe I am doing my part. Usually the numbers are like 50-70-85 me being lowest

If you check my stats out, I'm almost always the highest kills, sometimes double the nearest. Maybe it's how you're playing? I play aggressive with a scout rifle, occasionally an auto rifle, and dome enemies.
