https://www.change.org/petitions/bungie-inc-remove-david-dague-as-community-manager#share
Before you jump to conclusions I want to first ask you a question. What does a community manager do? Is it a figurehead used soley to market a game? No, but that is surely what it seems like.
Here's a definition if you need one:
"An executive in the company who acts as the ambassador of a company or brand on the web. The community manager builds and monitors multiple communities generated in blogs, forums, social networks, etc. S/he becomes the authorised voice of the company.
Besides requiring a thorough knowledge of rules and netiquette used in various media, the role of the community manager requires common sense, the right aptitude and the ability to make decisions regarding the company's image or brand. For example, the community manager has to be able to knock on the CEO’s door and ask him or her to intervene in an online forum."
Let's take a look at what Bungie's community manager has contributed for the past year.
-Weekly updates with no clear answers. (Defininive announcements/answers are usually posted on the Bungie blog or at the beggining of an update, not the mail sack.)
-Forum posts that belittle concerned users and are almost never serious.
-Forum Ninjas have essentially become useless.
-Any questions that a user PMs are ignored unless they directly praise the game.
-Little to no moderation. (Think about all the trolling you see in #Destiny)
-July 7th, 2014 was a marketing ploy
Now I bet you are thinking to yourself, "Gee if I was the community manager I wouldn't deal with these spoiled users either."
Now imagine being the President and saying, "Gee I really don't think the American people deserve a stable economy because all they do is complain."
See what I am getting at? If you have a JOB you should do that job. This petition's goal is to have David Dague be removed from his position so that we can get a competent and qualified individual. This man is NOT qualified to be in this position. He was hired only because he created a small gaming website a few years ago.
We want someone who actually INTERACTS with the community and takes their job seriously.
We deserve better so please sign this petition if you want the community the way it was instead of the way it is now.
1 ReplyI miss Frankie... so much...

Good looking petition... all we have to do now is run it by the community mana... oh crap.

3 RepliesYou are basically a moderator, you can mute the trolls so that they never bother you. This system works better because what offend you may not offend me. So Bungie was kind enough to give us power to regulate our own experience. Because of this, the moderators only have to act in extreme cases. Deej has interacted with us plenty. What are we a bunch of three year old's that can't function without adult supervision? Many of the questions asked are topics that are currently kept secret anyways, why would you expect an answer that he is not allowed to give?
We deserve better
We don't deserve jack shit. We aren't paying for this sites services, and if bungie felt so inclined they would have every right to ban every last one of us.

2 RepliesWhy is DeeJ so hated?

Wait, you're trying to tell me that deej is supposed to actually do something? I thought bungie hired him as the company clown.

7 RepliesDeeJ has personally been a douche to me, but I feel kind of bad that the hate has gotten so bad that people are actually demanding his removal. I wouldn't want to get someone fired for some slight online offense.

2 RepliesOK, it bought my bogus address this time. I pity whoever lives at 2401 Penitent Tangent, Oklahoma City.

Has Deej even posted in #offtopic in the last like...6 months?

I hope DeeJ knows that 100% of the Flood despises him and praises Marty. Hey DeeJ, will there be guns in Destiny?
huehue wait and see you STARSIDE guardians tmrmtmtmtmf
I vote myself as New Community Manager, because it's not like I can be any worse than the last one, amirite?
-
Done as he once blocked me from Bungie's twitter account. What gives him the right to block me from a company's social media account?
-
8 RepliesEdited by Ktan_Dantaktee: 7/8/2014 4:48:08 AMI would also like to put myself in the running for Community Manager. What will I do, you may ask? -I will nuke the cesspit known as Density -I will ban Dazarobbo, Sentra, and all of the other annoying people -I will push for a return of the Title System -I will build many buildings filled with booze, metal poles, and scantily clad women -I will bring back Density so we can all watch as I nuke it again -I will create a horrifyingly humiliating title that is exclusive to Kiyo -I will spew bullshit during my campaign to get myself elected -I will make Porch Day an official holiday, and allow you all to choose a single forum every year, and just porch the crap out of it I would also like to point out that my opponent hates Halo 2. /mudslinging
