In all shooting games there are always campers? Why camp ? It's boring and scummy.

2 RepliesLocking down an area =/= camping. Camping is sitting in a room in Black Ops 2 with deployed Riot Shields, Claymores, and Trophy Systems, while watching the only entrance with an LMG equipped with Target Finder. Maintaining control of the top of Construct in Halo 3 and keeping the Sniper/Rocket/Sword is not camping.

I'll stop when people stop feeding me easy kills

3 RepliesWhat's wrong with camping? As long as you do it responsibly (without starting forest fires, damaging camp sites, littering, etc) it can be a ton of fun to go camping with friends. It's great to live out in nature for a day or two in all it's beauty.

1 ReplyHere's what happens in the multiplayer cycle of every single game: First 3 months: Everyone plays on an even level. Good players get better, average players get better and bad players get owned but still try to play honorably because they're still idealistic and everyone is enjoying the game. Six months after launch: Good players stick around and still own everyone. Average players stop playing and move to another title. Bad players stick around but only use the cheapest practices like camping and proximity explosives because that's the only way they can get any kills. Bad players are no longer enjoying the game and are no longer idealistic, but their sole objective is to get a few kills any way possible and stop everyone else from enjoying themselves. That's why I think people camp. :D

1 ReplyIt is only a game at the end of the day, anything goes in gaming.

3 RepliesI lockdown areas.

I dunno, man. I play Blops II and I can't sit for more than 30 seconds. I play tdm and I'm always trying to flank the enemy spawn but I may sit for a second if I don't feel safe. I have no idea why people are sitting in corners in a twitch shooter. The whole game is about reflexes and you only hold yourself back from getting better by taking the easy option.

Edited by MacDaddyDaG: 6/25/2014 3:26:46 PMUsually in battlefield camping is considered holding a objective but in halo camping is considered being a camper unless infection cuz everyone camps for that

12 RepliesBecause as long as there is an idiot running blindly around cornered, there will be a entrepreneur waiting to headshot him.
-
Because camping with frisbees' would be less effective ( but more fun) Seriously though I am sure people have said already that they are unskilled players. This is true. More importantly I don't understand how that can be fun. Sitting in one spot for as long as it takes to kill someone or be killed has got to suck.

5 RepliesI only camp in Ghost Recon Online. Why? Because I choose the recon class with a sniper rifle and that is in fact what snipers do!!! Do you see terry towel head Taliban complaining about campers? No. Because they are dead. Camping works. Logic > your gaming skill
-
Because they're bad at the game. Saying "it's a legitimate strategy" is their poor attempt at trying to justify their cancerous actions.
-
It's a legitimate strategy!
-
Cause they can't play
-
I liek to sit in a corner wit my LMG target finder and my Assault Shield deployed with double Claymores, it's a legit strategy guise.
-
6 Repliesif by camping you mean literally sitting in the same spot all game waiting for people, its because they are probably too afraid to head out and lose their kill streak/do bad if by camping you mean patrolling an area, locking down a building/area... then that isnt camping
-
Probably because it works.

1 Reply> game about killing others to win > why do people use tactics that work Gee I wonder why
-
15 Replies>runs around entire map killing people >HEARS enemy coming from around corner (thank you awesome Turtle Beach headphones) >kills enemy as he rounds the corner >gets called camper -blam!-ing logic ...

1 ReplyEdited by Nitron F117: 6/25/2014 7:14:53 AMWhile you may find it boring, another player may find it fun to get kills while decreasing their chances of being shot in the back. Every strategy has its ups and downs. If you don't like it when other players camp, you can simply not go to where they are camping, and they will no longer get any kills.

1 ReplyUse to bother me. Now i just find it as a challenge. Chucking grenades, knives or finding an alt. route to take them out.
-
2 RepliesIt's called taking up a strategic defensive position. It's for the refined players who have more to their skill than run n gun.
-
3 RepliesPeople get frustrated and anxious about being shot in the back so they instinctively back into a corner and wait.
-
5 RepliesIt may be boring, but it's a game of patience. If I sit still they'll walk by and an instant flank can be made.
-
1 ReplyFallout from the sad death of tactical shooters. Nobody knows how to clear a room anymore.
