I want to create a spoiler-free travel-guide in destiny for people who want to know more about a place before they go, but don't want the adventure spoiled by someone telling them exactly what to do each step of the way. I've never tried anything like this before and plan on using the beta to test the water for my idea.
Tell me if this kind of travel-brochure approach to a guide sounds appealing, and what kind of information you'd like to see in it.
Thanks!

7 RepliesSounds fun and useful. As for spoilers are you talking about landmarks and places or story line events? For me personally I would rather not know any of the places or activities and find out for myself. I know that others like to be as I formed as possible, so possibly either dividing into sections depending on the level of spoiler material lime having a general high level overview of an area I. The front and then in depth break outs of areas and enemies/ encounters later on in it? Or you could use a preface explaining exactly what a reader is getting into! If you have a next gen console then either system should be great for pulling screenshots and small vids for your brochure! Good luck!

1 ReplyIt seems like there's some excitement about community help for this project. Which is awesome! The question I have for people with web experience is: "What kinds of formats for this thing would allow me to harness some of that community energy?"

3 RepliesYou should do an Exotic Gear guide, kind of like Yoteslaya's legendary weapons guide for borderlands 2. You could say where to get the weapon, what boss drops it, and the best way of farming for it, if possible.

I was originally planning on creating a fictionalized "guardian's field journal" for when I play Destiny as a way of sharing my experiences in the game with others. You idea is similarly novel and could be an engaging way to reach out to other players or gamers in general. I think a video compilation of snippets overlooking various points of interest at destinations would be a a marvelous idea as you talk a bit about the details of the general environment, present alien forces and operations, landmarks, and key areas to explore. That would take some understanding of video editing, of course, and I don't have experience in that. If you were to do that, you'd need a decent enough PC.

1 ReplyFor the guardian who can't figure out where they need to go next. I think it a great idea . make sure to include a map of the overall area and in game points of reference such as "the land formation that looks like Watt's beard" and such for those who have a hard time with maps.
