It happened over 10 years ago, at this point who even cares?
Other than those who had family involved

22 RepliesIt was the single worst act of terror in history. That's why. Grow up.

3 RepliesReminds me of that guy that posted on one 9/11 saying that he didn't want to live through the pain of losing his cousin every single year.
-
Because 3,000 people died that day
-
Because people don't want to forget what happened that day whether it be from terrorists or a conspiracy. Also yes, it's getting annoying to hear just like pop culture media bs.
-
Ease up now your running outta bait.
-
You don't have to, but we want to. So -blam!- off.
who even cares
It is basically an american memorial only ... a few other countries respect their right to ceremony but that is about it. Other countries have similar events, and are likewise recognized out of respect. For example Vietnam continues to recognize the Tet Offensive (which is anti-american - some would say the original act of terrorism). Ironically there is very little world celebration of unification or peaceful events which attract the same level of patriotism ... kind of telling on the whole human psyche.

So we can hate Muslims and be okay with sacrificing freedom for 'security.'

2 RepliesWhy is the attack on Pearl Harbor remembered? Why is the Sinking of the Lusitania remembered? Heck, why do the Brits still remember the Blitz?
-
Towers have risen and fallen all throughout history. Suddenly it's different because it happened to us.
-
Because people want a reason to be angry at the people they blame. Seriously. 13 years. People need to get over it.

We honor a lot of moments in history. Why not 911?
-
We take a day to honor those who died on that terrible day, they deserve to be remembered. You are only truly dead when you are forgotten

Too soon lol

Still in a war of which those events were a contributing cause?

As someone who lives in New York. And had family members involved,we honestly have moved on from that and that Memorial is usually the one day we take time and remember. I mean,You have to understand the sheer impact it had on the City. Those two skyscrapers will never again be seen in the skyline, cars remained in parking lots for weeks, for obvious reasons. And is it really so much that we get just ONE day to remember those who perished? Just one? It's not like we mope every single day.If there's anything I know about New York,it's that we move on quickly, we are always changing, always shifting and we as a city are sturdy, edgy, and Agressive for the most part.
-
Because the generation who experienced it is still alive you dum bass

1 ReplyThose who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

fuck you.

I'm questioning whether this is supposed to be a satirization rather than an impersonation.

3 RepliesI never hear anyone crying for the thousands of Iraqi and Afghani children that were killed by our own soldiers....
-
Much as I agree with you, you have to remember there were over 2,500 people who died in the attack and it was on American soil and involved American civilians instead of an unfortunate loss of soldiers overseas (This is just meant as the majority mentality of the times, and does not represent my views on the Armed Forces).

3 RepliesYou know the difference between a cow and 9/11? You don't milk a cow for 13 years straight.
