And same with booty shorts. Isn't that just like underwear as well? I mean, they cover the same surface area of the body, yet one is acceptable to wear in public and the other isn't. It's odd.

Unacceptable swimming wear, yet underwear.

Different purposes, different fabrics, different looks.

This has been a pet peeve of mine for so long.. Getting in water doesn't give you an excuse to walk around in your underwear.

I think I speak for most of us men when I say that little social stigma you're talking about is just fine and dandy.

6 RepliesI hope your underwear doesn't cover an area this big.

Basically, just a different material.

Both underwear and bikini's can get wet, it's just one of them is acceptable to get wet in public.
-
Can't all underwear get wet? Is there some sort of waterproof underwear I'm not aware of? I can't imagine a context in which that would be useful enough to spend money on.
-
Sorry to say but underwear has been known to get wet ... sometimes for good/welcomed reasons, others not so good. Wild stab here, but isn't the idea behind underwear to catch wetness (or solids - eewwl) or at least its residue so as to protect the outer garment?
-
6 RepliesIt's also fabric which isn't see through when it gets wet.
-
6 RepliesYou can't really classify bikinis "underwear" if you don't wear bikinis underneath anything. Come on, English is my second language, but deconstructing the word and seeing the words, "Under" and "Wear" kind of signify something.

1 ReplyIf you've ever seen a woman in underwear, you would know the difference

Yeah. OP, get used to "woman logic".

Haven't we been here before?
