Multiple players/characters
Can we expect destiny to allow multiple characters in one account?

I remember in Mass Effect when in the character creation it said something along the lines of "after this point, you won't be able to change anything," and I felt sure that I'd made some mistake. I appreciate the idea of making a single character for everything, but I would like to have the ability to change my mind, or have different characters for different playstyles/moods.

It looks that way from the first Vidoc - though I do wonder with a lack of main menu and the way they talked about your character in the Out Here in The Wild vidoc...

1 ReplyI know that originally it was said that you would create one character and it was encouraged to stick with one character since it will be a long running game and it is supposed to be YOU in this world...but I bet enough people bit#hed about it and now there will be alts and all the wonderful exploitations that come with it. While it is nice to be able to create characters of each class for variety of play, it takes away from the original idea of destiny that your decisions have consequences, a point that is a large media problem and controversy with video games today. I think it was a better idea to allow for character modification, perhaps pay a certain amount in game money to change classes, then at least it would be more of a decision. Making Destiny more than "just another open-world shooter" is what I am excited about, but if the masses just want another borderlands clone or CoD open world, then I will definitely be passing on this title.

It looks like you'll be able to have 4 without paying but since there seems to be extra slots you might be able to have more if you pay, like a micro transaction. Either that or the other slots are just for the design of the interface.

Looks like you can from GDC footage. Which is a good thing because you can use lower level Characters to match up with friends just starting with Destiny of you're some level 50 drawing in powerful enemies that they can't handle with a beginning character.
