Marathon symbol used for Cabal?
He guys. Sorry if this has been posted before! I come in and out of the Destiny Forum but I'm mostly in community forum! I saw this a while back when watching the Destiny Trailer. To me it sort of looks like the cabal's symbol is some what of a Marathon logo! What do you guys think?

i'd say it's just thematic repetition. This applies to Bungie's in-game visual ids as well as narrative elements.

1 ReplyIt reminded me of the Monitor's eye from Halo 3 when I saw it. But then again, that also has ties to the Marathon logo. On a somewhat related note. here's hoping some offshoot of the Security helmet shows up as a loot drop as a Marathon reference as well. I'd wear the crap outa that helmet.

It's close... I don't think I'd actually call it the Marathon symbol, but I wouldn't be suprised to hear that this symbol was intentionally created to resemble the Marathon symbol.

I see the resembence, but I see a symbol that reflects some sort of worship of The Traveler more than Marathon.

4 RepliesI've never noticed this. It actually looks more like the mixed up marathon symbol variation used in Halo 4 as the 'Reclaimer Symbol'.
