So yea... I have no -blam!-ing clue what's going on here. But the story goes like this. I brought a mouse home one day back at the beginning of April to feed to my ball python. Long behold, that mouse was actually pregnant and had 11 babies- ate one, and the rest made it to adulthood. Now here's the thing; I raised these mice like puppies and haven't fed these particular ones to my snake (still feed him other ones I get from the pet store), but I had 4 adult males, 7 adult females (including the mother). Now I was inspecting each cage tonight, and clean them out every 3 days. The females were all together in the same cage, and now something retarded happened. One of those "females" apparently grew testicles overnight and I'm not sure what to do or even what to say about this whole shitnanigan. I need some kind of explanation. Did they descend late or is he a sequential hermaphrodite? I read about mouse sex-changing genes, but never heard of them actually being active in adults. WTF is going on here. Someone give me a legit answer.
