There's a game for you in Marathon. It's much more than an extraction shooter and a mandatory PvP game per the way you choose to play.
In the above video... DFP goes through it — piece by piece — the same things I saw permeating throughout the game & it's systems...
Destiny (2)'s DNA. Literally. Not figuratively.
It's 'build your own' exotic weapon.... literally, not figuratively... and you'll recognize the perks, understand what they do....
Ya wanna' know why?
1 to 1... in some cases the exact perks and effects 'as in' Destiny weapons.
The Maps... ARE ... huge Patrol spaces... Darkzone Patrol spaces.
Not Figuratively... literally.
And I agree with Shiekh should you watch until the end. The Scale and potential for Destiny is unmatched in comparison.
Marathon means good things for Destiny as a supplemental game for the Studio.
Things like dedicated servers.
On the eve of Marathon's launch... I'm trying to spread good vibes. I still love Destiny.

4 RepliesOk, my take. I played a little bit of the beta for Division years ago. Enough to realize that extraction shooters are not for me. Then last week during the server slam, while at work, I watched some twitch feed from a streamer. Main impression I got was that Marathon is not what I want to play. Nothing about it looked good to me. The hues, the menus, the gameplay just looked off and not fun.

6 RepliesDo you work for bungie? Do you have a real job every post I see you is defending everything they do. The fact that they could not handle 2 live games is fair they sacked alot of people and most work on Marathon. My friends played it it made them sick the colours and movement are awfull. Anyway the mistake bungie made was pissing so many destiny fans off well not you the diehards like yourself still cream for them. 80k on launch day for marathon when RE9 has 250k+ at double the price they just know how to make games unlike Bungo now the traitors just want money and they should not get it if Destiny dies then snickers should die aswell. They ruined trust between players and company and the lack of ability from the studio is unreal. To all the bungie lovers enjoy the next while theh will be dead soon and fully sucked up by Sony. Bye bye....

Absolutely not… is it a good game… absolutely not… long term it will sadly rely on one of the most hated aspects of Destiny…. Massive amounts of grind and fomo!

5 RepliesNah I’m good. It’s an extraction shooter at the end of the day. I’m not willing to even give it the time of day to try it, I don’t care how good everyone says it is. Not only that but I hope it gets the concord treatment so Bungie knows never to make another one.

They knew their customers like pve so they spent the last 4.5 years making a pvp game, while making their pve customers experience worse in their current offerings. "Dark" patrol zones aren't really pve. Extraction isn't really pve either. If i want to play pvp I'll reinstall CoD. Good luck to those enjoying marathon.

Exotic mods would only fit certain types of weapon frames... But it never happened... I bought (preordered) Marathon and am refusing to play it, for reasons, none about the game itself... Anyways, have fun...

The thing about Marathon is that it’s gonna be the only game out there for a while that has destiny’s weapon feel, and gameplay feel. Nothing out there so far has tried to replicate it…

You couldn't have linked a better youtuber... DFP is a funny dude.. plays the shi! D2 weapons at times (like me) in PVP vids... tells it like it is. All these content creators need adjacent games for their jobs... no problem with that. I will for certain enjoy watching his and others cool gameplay (not instructional) Marathon vids because I will not purchase that game ($2...$40...doesn't matter). Its for certain got good bones to make a good game (I see potential in the trio fill, solo and rook playstyles for certain)... ... Bungie can create a platform it seems (halo, destiny franchise backbone, marathon structure)... but I don't want them to run the game and its future developments. They are not well-skilled at that... they are not interested in that fine-tuning attention to detail... attention to the customer. The thing that changed my mind is actually not only the lack of attention to D2 but specifically the 1st patch of January. I was enjoying PVP until that happened... I know cause I logged in everyday to play PVP. It devalued the whole game for me... and reminded me who I'm dealing with. -
