Title says it all.
I haven't played since Final Shape. I am not investing any more time and money into the game before you decide to make all the legacy weapons in my vault upgradable to the new tiering system. This should be very easy and cheap to develop. And it is a good way to send a positive message to your community and veteran players who have left since that you care about the time they invested into the game.
You should allow players to farm components (through activities + explorations + missions) in order to upgrade legacy weapons to the new tiering system. Then you can upgrade from T1 to T5 over time.
From what I have seen, you are now giving T5 weapons to everyone. So what was the point of sunsetting the whole D2 content in EoF outside creating a lot of frustration and time wasted?
I don't care about armors and I would be happy to farm the new ones. Thank you!

Wishful thinking but IMO since they depowered our vaulted weapons to light level 10 at the start of EoF they should increase all light levels to 300 given that is now the baseline light level. Either that or infusing should be cheaper. I'll gladly infuse them all of I can afford it.

Weapons have been unsunset for years now lol.

1 ReplyI'm in the opposite boat. The changes and soft-sunsetting of Armor has pissed me off immensely. I spent two years meticulously crafting my Vault to min/max stats for any build I desired for any class. I had a full grasp and understanding of how to min/max Armor Stats and how they all worked, pretty much every Tier and Cooldown Timer memorized for every Ability, and really enjoyed the process of mastering that. The idea of re-grinding Armor was so off-putting I quit Destiny 2 in June. Came back last week for the first time since. Planning on an exit by the time this month ends. It's just not a franchise I have time for in life any more. And given how Bungie pulls off moves like this (ie Soft-Sunsetting), it really deincentivizes any grind, because it's just a matter of time before they overhaul it (or another system) again. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2113596755?collection=wv3YjVQMxBdBUQ

7 RepliesEdited by THE GRIND IS REAL: 12/17/2025 8:43:44 PMThey haven't sunset the weapons and you can buy tier 5 from zavi also some drop from the campaign ,honestly It makes me happy to say bungie cooked with this dlc aslong as no nerfs come only fixes like possibly the bug with warlock strand melee which is actually a bug but I use all 3 characters dont main warlock tbh so for me they can keep the bug warlocks come in handy for team mates lol Also og armor/weapons still stands up fine in endgame you can get better stats if you want for armor but you'll be safe with your old gear If anything you can also access all previous seasons weapons aswel ,lasty the whole star wars and lightsaber etc really brings a breath of fresh air to what was turning a stale game Its worth the price atm Also they seem to be actually doing good fixes like the platforms on the boss fight for the saber dont disappear on the nodes ,proper good change so well done bungie Only thing that sucks is the insane difficulty modifiers you have to choose for tier 5 armor guaranteed on activities etc but even on the lesser difficulty the can randomly drop but rarely

I still mostly use the old weapons. I have a Battlescar that still works great and I pulled an old Subjective SMG out of the vault for this season's arc mods.

It would be hard and expensive to do. Well over 200 weapons aren't tired so that's updating perk pools, adding thousands of lines of code, adding and or updating activity loot tables, origin traits. Same for armour. And for what would be a free update its not worth the year plus it would take for the chance of getting players back into the game when Sony and bungie have very low confidence in the game. But it would have been great if they did as it would have breathed life back into old content like the moon and europa loot and activities. The whole tired loot system would have been better if it was there at the start of D2 now it's a decent system playing catch up.
