Facts.
I really like timers. Zero Hour is still probably my favorite mission ever.
How can any timer mechanic or score multiplier exist with Eager Edge in the game?
With skating and movement tech that advantages one platform greatly.
With PC as the minority platform.
Either Timers have to go... or movement tech including Eager Edge has to go.
😇👍💠
Or movement tech needs to go, and EE needs to be a kill perk.

20 RepliesNew dungeon sword has eager edge on it as well. Now we have a tiered sword that can be used in skating. Can’t wait to leave you behind even more now.
-
Timers in destiny clearly are not designed to count eager edge, this must be bait
-
Don’t mind me, just eating popcorn while you fish :)

2 RepliesI appreciate ur bravery to stand up and talk slander about eager edge, or maybe it's just a bait for "eager edge haters" like me, but whatever. regardless.. I'd honestly just remove eager edge, I absolute despise trying to keep up with those stupid flying squirrels! someone might say it's a skill issue, becuz apparently EVERYTHING boils down to a skill issue in this forum! call it a skill issue how many times u want, won't change the fact that not everyone is trying to speedrun every mission. the timers aren't really a big deal, but since it'd be "unfair" to remove one but not the other I'd vote on removing both.
-
2 RepliesAgreed. Why not just make out of glitching-outside-of map-speed-running a requirement at this point.
-
2 RepliesWell of radiance wasnt bad for the game. What was bad for the game was being forced to sit still while being bombarded by the boss & every other enemy in the room. This is why rhulk is the best boss fight in the game. Sitting in a well as he moves around pelé'ing everybody isnt a sound strategy.

3 RepliesBrother just asked to delete one of the funnest mechanics in the game when we're crashing in player numbers. You're part of the problem. Also, favors one platform? Skill issue. Legitimately, because I've been using EE tech on console since it was introduced, in fact, EE wasn't even the original remember Worldline skate in shadowkeep GoS??? And even tho I transferred to PC, I still use a controller and EE tech just fine no Macros. Tbh it's stuff like this on why people think I'm disabled when I say I'm on controller to PC players only for them to realize I can do everything they do. Like, bro. Don't ask for EE to be deleted because of your skill issue. Just ask for the timers to be removed. Tldr: EE is fun, you have a skill issue, I use it with controller just fine. Just ask for no timers next time.

1 ReplyLike all things epic, EE has it's annoying side but I would never want them to remove it from the game. It's fun AF!
-
If you can't adapt to eager edge, that might be a you problem.

1 ReplyEdited by TheLastBlackKnight: 11/18/2025 12:30:27 PMIf they got rid of eager edge it would truly kill the game for a lot of players, including me. Timers however are not a fun mechanic. Get rid of them Also, literally NOTHING in this event is relevant to eager edge There’s a reason almost every single player here is telling you that you are wrong. Because you are. You have a lot of bad takes regarding this game but this might be the worst.

1 ReplyNo I need eager edge I can accidentally yeet friends with it.

OP: 🤔 I love using EE even though I’m not a tortoise that flies very far…very basic movement…very vanilla…and what’s even better, is when I automatically try to fly - due to muscle memory, loaded with a rocket launcher / GL / MG / etc. 🤡 Furthermore, I love watching those high-flying EE speedsters zip around things like the ‘whisper’ quest! Fantastic stuff! 😁 That is all. Ease Springs! 🖖👻

1 ReplyI love eager edge… it’s awesome… I also agree timers need to go… needless stress…
-
Welcome to not liking timers lol. Now how about revives disappearing?
-
It’s not an either/or case. You are rewarded for being faster and Eager Edge and the number of forms of skating are by extension, an expression of skill. And yes, it’s easier with K&M but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible on controller.
-
Or just come to the realization that eager edge has been in the game for years, same as well, and that that’s not gonna change, and whether you like it or not, if you can’t use eager edge correctly it’s strictly a skill issue bro, and if you can’t get one then you really need to understand that an eager edge sword is available to literally anyone as long as you do activities that provide them. Not to mention when it comes to things like eager edging around in something like the salt mines which happens to include no ammo perks so you don’t have it instantly, you still have to complete set objectives to move on before you can even get to the next stage, so yes you save 3 seconds in between segments of certain things and that may be a little boo hoo to people who can’t use it or don’t have it, but you could easily do it just the same as everyone else. Titling eager edge as a bad perk or that it ruins destiny is absurd, considering the reason you think this way is because of little time saves even though without eager edge like in something like Sweatcicles last wish speed run of 25 minutes or whatever a while back, they didn’t have access to what we have now with eager edge, and still go faster than most people today, so it’s not the perk, it’s the skill gap the perk has created, and the better players that learn to use it are bound to have an advantage with it due to the fact that because they are better, they are more likely to use it and perfect it. So maybe don’t say the perk sucks and how bad it is u til you actually master it and understand it.

2 RepliesBut if titan flying ever gets patched, Well and shatter skating should aswell.

2 RepliesSubjective.

23 RepliesEdited by viiTactiiCZz: 11/17/2025 10:30:29 AMDisagree, eager edge as a tech (ie movement - shatter/well skating) was good. Bungie basing things on how fast you clear content making those things near mandatory, or building their encounters without considering those things should be evaluated.
Either Timers have to go... or movement tech including Eager Edge has to go.
They can balance around both by making add clearing mandatory and reducing the amount of jump/running sections. As you mentioned Zero Hour - most of your time in that mission is spent running or jumping which makes Eager Edge swords a solid option. Imo they should cut back on the amount of jumping/running areas within missions and invest more in the areas we have enemies. For example, if for Zero Hour they trimmed back the TREVR area to be a few jumps down but you had to complete a puzzle in the first area with the Brig and the second area with the tank.

Edited by Rainbine 9545: 11/18/2025 8:38:06 PMMy word petty much means nothing due to me just up and leaving but me I say both should go since both have a problem in my eyes Eager edge: in pve it is just movment tech which results in timers being shortened to make up for it PvP: it becomes a crutch, oh you got into a bad place just eager edge out or if someone manages to get a good shot at you but just close enough for eager edge to hit them is a panic button And before anyone argues for the movement tech, didn’t people complain about Hunter dodge for doing petty much the same thing but no where near as far away or as fast? Timers Makes it so all your hard work is wasted due to the activity being made for multiple players in mind and players that knows the game inside out while causing stress and frustration for the activity for those who do not have a lot of people to play with

Having movement tech in a game that only occasionally has any time based activities is perfectly fine. Nothing is balanced in a way that is only doable with eager edge and using it sacrifices an offensive heavy weapon.

Edited by Kyrin7: 11/18/2025 4:35:51 PMEager Edge and time mechanics don't really affect eachother. It's movement tech that is available to every class. So it's no more game breaking than a Sparrow. Also like Sparrows, Eager Edge isn't usable in every situation. There are vehicle restricted zones and there are barriers/objectives/Vex-heads that act as Eager Edge restricted zones. Most people that use Eager Edge aren't even getting around much quicker either, as it's often more for convenience. Speed runners are the only people using Eager Edge to actually race a timer. And at that point, who cares? They're speed runners, they raced timers way before Eager Edge existed. A D1 player didn't need Eager Edge to solo the entire Crota raid in under 9 minutes. Why get rid of a very well liked perk? And what would be better for it? All you've said is platform inequity, but that will never change. Different platforms have different strong suits. PC still has a competitive advantage over consoles, which Eager Edge doesn't affect at all. If you struggle with it, regardless of platform, you just need practice. I have plenty of PC friends who use Eager Edge without issue.

3 RepliesEdited by Killapete232: 11/17/2025 6:30:42 PMMaybe the problem is the timer mechanic and the score multiplier, and or the ever increasing threshold of score tiering. Got my diamond score using bows only. Trying the medieval modifier now and can say eager edge is barely of importance, as the RNG of having an HVT spawn in to determine a diamond score is kinda dumb. The salt mines also has drones you can shoot to do the same but the scoring is favored toward killing that HVT, this is the real issue.

8 RepliesIs this a troll I’m so confused

3 RepliesYou have to sacrifice a powerful heavy weapon for a sword that makes you go a bit quicker. Its fine it doesn't need any changes.

I agree 100%. It’s either/or. The problem is, as you said, that this game has been designed around the superior input of M/K for years. The smallest platform of the playerbase. And it’s even a smaller percentage now. I don’t mind which goes. Movement tech or timers. However I will say just one contrary thing, a level playing field?
