Bold statement I know but hear me out. The original vision of Destiny was in fact Social spaces, open environments, and World events. Over the last 12 years all these trappings have been cut back and or removed. The core foundations of a real MMO. 20 years ago when I played WoW some the best moments were when a raid happened. Just tons of players marching off to some battle “hey where these people going?? I’m coming with!” Freaking magical. The closest thing we have remaining to that spirit is The Blind Well. Players can just traverse the open environment with other players and engage in a cooperative battle. It feels meaningful, it’s feels immersive. It’s part of the main reason we loved the Archons Forge in D1. Just go there physically in game and players show up to battle alongside you. If Bungie ever wants to capture “30 seconds of fun” within Destiny that’s the solution for PVE content. The Portal kinda turns Destiny into a souless Call Of Duty game. Checking off boxes, not immersion.
