While playing through the campaign, I noticed that many of the buildings appear to be exact replicas of those previously found on Titan with.... the terrain of Io even with several parts ripped from tangled shore. Almost 1:1 assets.
Even more curious, there are still English texts and computer interfaces present—despite the fact that the Eionians are said to have their own intricate language.
Thoughts?

I literally saw a re-used hallway section of the tangled shore from Forsaken, and Prison of Elders. you are not wrong here.
-
Wait ... does that mean they plagiarised themselves now?
-
1 ReplyYeah it was just a kit bash of Tangled Shore, Titan, and Io. The funniest part was reused boss fight from Curse of Osiris.
-
Kept getting déjà vu.
-
11 RepliesThe whole DLC is reused assets. They literally retextured Egregores beige, threw some buildings from Titan in, and added Grasp Of Avarice cannon mechanics. You can tell that’s what Bungie did. Probably had the whole company working on Marathon and had the Destiny team just pull this out their blams. The entire thing is a mash up of reused assets. Based around a terrible gimmick the marketing team at Bungie hyped up. Nobody likes matter ball. People in high positions should be fired. Even better, Sony should give Destiny to a new studio. Destiny stays, Bungie goes. We got a 343 situation on our hands.

It is super small too. I thought for what is basically starting the game over we would get a little more to do and explore, but that map is like an tiny rpg city in the center and you can go a little ways out from there in 4-5 directions so far is what it seems like. But not that far. Like I would've been fine with something dreaming city size, but this is not even a 3rd of that size.
-
4 RepliesIt looks like an amalgamation of Io, Titan with some Tangled Shore painted in pastel 540p resolution shades. Just my pov on first glance.
-
I don’t know about any of that but it’s definitely the ugliest location we’ve ever had.
-
6 RepliesThis new location is just three older locations in an overcoat.

1 ReplyAn expansion of our beloved game… rich with the best glorious graphical fidelity money can buy. Superb quality, with the highest attention to detail in the business. C’mon down to witness the aftermath of the witness. How the F do the graphics get worse? Idk the graphics taking a 💩 really tickles my hemorrhoids.

Not fully. There are some Titan assets, some Neomuna, some Tangled Shore, and some completely new.
-
It’s the shore + io + titan

Reuse-Recycle-Retell the Bungee philosophy from Halo 1 onwards.. Even worse in Destiny 2

1 ReplyEdited by THA_3rd_GUY: 7/16/2025 4:19:01 PMThere's also traces of reused assets from Io, Tangled Shore, and even a little Europa.

7 RepliesA aircraft carrier just teleported out of thin air and your wondering why the planet has things from all over....they directly mention time and space is all messed up...it's not that hard to understand if you pay attention to the story...

1 ReplyEdited by Shrek, Eater of Onions: 7/17/2025 5:05:27 AMSo I guess nobody noticed that the entire first and third areas in the pale heart are also just reused assets. Not to mention seraph shield, vespers host and so on and so forth. Even savathuns throne world is just a reworked dreaming city. It’s a looter shooter. I don’t care how reused or bland the levels are as long as the loot is good. They could make the most beautiful pristine environment and it would not matter if the loot is bad.

Edited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 7/17/2025 11:46:12 AMAssets from io are there & mercury too. One of the missions have two giant cyclops that is from a garden world strike. But like someone else said lodi mentions us knowing every inch but never been there before.
-
2 RepliesIn the trailers Lodi even says you know every inch of this place but you've never been there

Jet Set WillyI really didn’t want to save Drifter. - old
Lack of staff to work on the project. Instruction to use what already existed. Reused assets. Lack of time and/or lack of care. -
Bungie has been re-using Titan for a long time. Honestly I think the only dlc that didn't have Titan assets in it was Witch Queen.
-
Turns out letting most of your people go and using most of the remaining tallent to build a niche extraction game might have devastating impacts on the quality of your products. Who could ever guess
-
Maybe one reason to sunset stuff. Hope we forget about old planets, new players wouldn't notice, and so re-use parts and call it new content.
-
Only good new location is the final mission
-
Just feels like io with fresh coat of paint to me honestly. Which is crazy considering I didn’t feel that way even once during FS and it was literally only re-used assets.

Edited by J_v_K: 7/16/2025 8:38:49 PMThematically speaking, it fits. The colony on Kepler would use the same tech the colonists on Titan used since they are all part of the same colonisation project. Personally speaking, I'm guessing Sony told them to cur down on development costs.

Edited by Lord Kielron: 7/16/2025 8:28:02 PMOh it is, along with 2 others. That’s just from the intro mission
