I can barely remember the last time I felt something when I got an exotic. I remember doing the forsaken campaign years back, I thought I just got an exotic to drop… man, I was excited to see what it was! and then it turned out to be a Trickster engram… I felt gutted, but that just shows how exciting and significant getting an exotic back then used to be. The rarity of it all made it *feel* significant, too.
Now I find myself deleting multiple exotic engrams in a row because it’s just inventory filler. Exotics don’t feel exotic anymore, they feel like a basic buff. Like a ‘minor’ subclass aspect, if you will. An aspect for an aspect.
Bungie, exotics really need to be re-thought. The whole idea of putting RNG into exotics makes it lose a part of its’ value, the assurance that you could use this gun/this armour piece without being hindered by the RNG of legendary pieces.

It's a 8 year old game, even if exotics were as rare as d1 you so would still have them all and not care about getting dupes.
