I have a theory. I've played a lot this week, it's all I've played, there's 2 issues, the first causing the 2nd.
So i started iron lord, I was on 0/100 wins, i won 15 games weds, 20 games Thursday, 15 games Friday, so I'm on 50/100, kda was 2.2, a few shockers in there but usually top 2 players, everything felt good, no lag no issues.
Once we hit Saturday I saw a huge influx of let's say sweaty players, lots of hunters, lots of flawless gilded guys, lots of players who are clearly very good at PvP, vast majority just using shotgun hand cannon, the guys who never miss, teleport a lot, lots of duos & trios, game became miserable. Spawn & die, peep a corner & die, every game going the same way, starting 2-50 after a few mins. Felt like i was losing every game, going negative every game, lots of lag, lots of really long loading times, lots of black screens, really long mm times. Lots of not great players with little placement or movement knowledge but clearly using 3td party help. On Saturday I played about 30 games & lost 28. I didn't play last night couldn't bear it. Logged on this morning, same thing, played 13-14 games & lost 12, after nearly 2 days I'm now 54/100 & my kda is now like 1.2 from 2.2.
I believe, & have for a long time, removing trials when banner is live, was a big mistake for the health of the game. Don't blame trials guys for playing banner, but I'd bet a lot of them use vpns, the less talented ones absolutely use help (cough cough) & this really badly affects connections & inturn pushes normal players away, obscene lag, skill gaps are huge, it's just not fun, at all.
To back up my theory, I've checked numbers at midday all week, & Saturday numbers dropped by around 40%, again today a huge dip meaning overall banner numbers have dropped by 70% in 2 days, yet overall game population went up over the weekend like always. Maybe the dad's can't play at the weekend with schools home, maybe they did their pinnacles Tues to Fri then dipped. Hoping it normalises tomorrow or it's gonna be an extremely long next 10 days

Trials players don’t magically only play IB during the weekend… Out of all my friends (Trials players with hundreds, if not 1000+ flawlesses) almost every single one (that even plays during iron banner weeks) plays IB for a few days after the first reset and then quits. That is if they even play at all. Majority of my friends just don’t bother getting on the game at all during IB

What you prbly experience is not that the sweaty players jumped on but Bungie mm saying you’re playing above you’re skill so let us put you into a new catagory so it’s more fair to the lesser skilled players. Welcome to the negative side of sbmm. First part of the week you where the protected player.. second part welcome to the player pool who Bungie thinks needs to be treated different because others need protection sbmm is all fun untill you’re in the catagory who gets forced to the 50/50 1.0 kd ratio. Hahaha love post like this

3 RepliesSplitting the playerbase between 2 playlists makes it a terrible laggy experience.

17 RepliesIdt they are doing any sussy stuff. Eruption has fewer sweats so I play that so I can farm the pve players for stats. I think a lot of good players just play IB in their regular trials teams which might be across regions.
