Destiny 2 Lowering Microphone Volume in Windows
Issue: Voice chat being enabled, even with push to talk on, makes Destiny 2 automatically adjust Window's microphone volume. This only seems to adjust down, causing me and many others headaches trying to figure out what causes our microphones to constantly need to be turned back up.
Expected behavior: It should never adjust Window's settings.
Workaround: Disable voice chat in game.

Also running into the same issue here, found a workaround that still allows you to hear voice chat in game (though your mic won't be heard). If you have a second mic or input device in windows sound settings, designate that as the default communications device. From what I can tell the game dips your mic volume in windows if it thinks you're peaking.
