16 RepliesIf the “weighing” is real, it would have also BENEFITED players. You can’t swing this kind of data and see it as a solely negative aspect. We’ve all probably benefited from this and not even known about it. Also seems to be a “post final shape issue” as cold comfort would have been obnoxiously harder to get its GR then it really was, amount many others.

4 RepliesAnyone who’s played for long enough has experienced this. Trashcan dupe rolls over and over while the elusive god roll never drops. How many players quit playing because fighting against bungies bad rng?
-
Because god roll chasing is irrelevant if they don't weight more on garbage perks and doesn't add play time as much as they need to pad the time as "content"
-
One of their shills posted what looks like a twitter post confirming they “found” the bug. Just another instance of them getting caught rigging the system to screw the players, again. Also only after players put out the data and they couldn’t play stupid anymore. Just remember that next time they ask you for money. They will cheat and lie to keep you playing.

5 RepliesEdited by Eazy-E: 10/25/2024 8:43:37 PMI thought that was a thing since the beginning honestly, and they have the ultimate cop out, blame rng
-
22 RepliesBungie has been silently adjusting aspects of this game to artificially increase playtime against the player. They have been doing this since day one. None of this should be a surprise at this point.

1 ReplyEdited by Ferus Lux: 10/25/2024 10:40:12 PMPretty much. Remember how disgustingly rare the Cowboy Hunter cloak and Cowboy hats for Titan and Warlocks were 2 years ago in Spire of the Watcher? To this day Riptide will rarely focus into a Chillclip roll. In a season where I reset Crucible like 8 times, I focused over 20 instances of them and despite having double perk columns with 2-3 perks in both...none had Chillclip. Bungie will call it bugged coding before admitting it though 🫠

They only "found" the issue when someone brought it up. They knew it was a thing and didn't stop it. Fabricating a way to increase play time.

https://x.com/destiny2team/status/1849888122055897215?s=46 According to Bungie: “Our team has been working through community-sourced data and internal simulations to reproduce reported issues regarding legendary weapon perk RNG. After investigation, we can confirm an issue has been found in our code where some random perk combinations are harder to earn per legendary weapon perk set. In some cases, desirable perk combinations are a bit easier to earn as well. While we inspected our content and confirmed each perk is weighted equally, an issue in perk pool RNG is the culprit here. Our team has quickly identified a potential solution to the issue, and we are rapidly working to validate the fix. We are aiming to address this as soon as possible and will share a planned hotfix date when available.”

1 ReplyWatching the discourse around this is like watching your buddy learn that the government doesn't have his best interest at heart. Hey, did you know that (x) was secretly doing stuff that's shady? The answer is yes.

Bracing for extreme BDF cope.

Not perk weighting but still a bug.

19 RepliesNEWS FLASH!! IT ISN’T!! CONTENT CREATORS JUST BAITED YOU SO THEY’LL GET VIEWS!!! WAY TO THINK LOGICALLY!!! YOUR -blam!- PARENTS MUST BE SO PROUD!!!!

5 RepliesConspiracy time: I found their wording interesting. "There is no perk weighting active for any legendary weapon perks in Destiny 2." As in, it exists but it's not active. I could see their code being bugged...lol
-
1 ReplyI remember back in the day when they throttled XP and didn’t say anything until we called them out. Wouldn’t surprise me if there is perk weighting. I’ve felt like this is a thing since lightfall at least.
-
11 RepliesI've said before in a few other threads, presuming that this isn't an error in the calculations somewhere (that I am not educated enough in math or probability to go and find myself, if it does exist), the particular perks that are weighted against makes absolutely zero sense if they're doing it intentionally. The data seems to show that some weapons like chill inhibitor have good rolls, like envious arsenal bns weighted against, but most weapons have like nothing rolls weighted against, like, who here is intentionally grinding for rapid hit collective action on line in the sand? Presuming the results are accurate, I see no reality where this is intentional weighting by the devs at bungie, it just does not make sense.
-
6 RepliesIts just confusing. I have never played the game like perks weren't weighted it looks that way when you play it. If they weren't weighted then enough people wouldn't get the rolls they want. If they weren't weighted then someone could end up with nothing but the same thing. Or just never seeing something. I'm still not understanding. "Weighted" seems to mean when it doesn't ensure that I get what I want really fast?

2 RepliesImagine bungee hires people who actually know how to code with experience than hiring DEI hires with purple hair…

-
I was saying that back when Into the Light dropped. Seemed like I kept getting dupe trash rolls and my buddies said I was coping. Well well well How else would they keep you grinding?
-
This is just like when people complained that the Shuffle feature on Apple products wasnt random enough so they made it less random to seem more random because things tend to make certain patterns when truly random

2 RepliesEdited by DirtiestQBizzy: 10/25/2024 12:32:49 PMAnd just think...Had bungie not removed crafting from dungeon and seasonal weapons, this probably wouldnt even had been noticed. Should have kept the crafting stuff...but good if they finally fix this.

1 ReplyEdited by Cal O'Mari: 10/24/2024 7:04:32 PMIt may be, but they clarified that all perks are weighted equally. Whether we choose to believe it, that's subjective. Bugs could be the reality. I'm highly skeptical, myself because this studio has eroded insane amounts of trust with their stupidity, and to me, blatant player disrespect. It is worth considering, begrudgingly, that it might just be bad luck. I think the part that puts people off though, is there are patterns. I think of Crucible Engrams. Those are the ones I've decrypted the most. If you go really fast, at least I've had it happen; I've gotten 3 consecutive rolls that are exactly the same, many times. Random rolls do that though. Random means literally anything can happen, including patterns, and with multiple thousands of people, those patterns are bound to repeat more. We won't know for sure unless its some kind of scandal within Bungle that's made public. I fully expect this to happen, with how awful their business management is, but I don't have much trust in people, in general.

6 RepliesYeah it's very possible!! But, it could still be unintentional It all depends upon how the drops are decided; there must be rules that are followed as its not 'some guy' deciding what you get, it's an algorithm. It might all depend on the software being used to interrogate the database... even if there are no defined parameters for setting orders, I'd say that there are natural indexes that would be preferenced by whatever query language is being used. In my opinion, it would take an awful lot of effort to weight certain drops, without making others inaccessible. It would take less effort, but still a fair amount, to get a truly randomised system. From my experience (dealing with data interrogation on a very different level) it would be simpler to implement a knockout system.... but the game's 10 years old now!
