New exotic armor being locked behind novel decryption is miserable
I think everyone can agree that Rahools reputation grind is neither fun nor engaging, but it also means that the seasonal onslaught isn't even the best way to get the new gear. The worst part is that this is the only way to get the new armor, it isn't a pity system, it isn't an alternative way to grind, its the only way. Sure, people who hoarded exotic engrams and material got to skip this grind, but it feels more like players are being punished for not cheesing the system, as opposed to players being rewarded for coming up with clever solutions.

Yet another case of Bungie being out of touch with the players and with their own game. Players wanted additional avenues to get the new exotic armors instead of having to grind out Lost Sectors every season. So instead of adding, Bungie went to the extreme and moved it to being an even more restrictive source with Rahool. Not only do players have to re-grind another rank system, but once novel decryption has been unlocked, players still need to grind out lost sectors for the engrams. Let's not forget that to use this new way requires Ciphers which requires an additional grind.
