Title. Everything that keeps getting added to the game is padding playtime but the game itself is still a slog.
I'm not gonna log in daily to chase 2010 light...
And I'm not gonna log in daily to replace my perfectly functional armor...
My play time since TFS came out has cratered and I barely play once a week now and that's not gonna change...
Until you get rid of this garbage light level lock that you have on every activity in the game.
If I have to repeat every activity dozens and dozens of times (or even hundreds of times) for all this new crap, doing it at a disadvantage is annoying, not fun.
All these changes will ultimately net us a small gain now, but with Bungie's penchant for making everything fake challenging (shooting an enemy 8 times instead of 4 times is not harder. It only takes longer and tedium is not the same as difficulty), it's only a matter of time before we get whole nerfed again and are back to taking more damage and dealing less damage.
Until +20 comes back, none of this stuff moves the needle enough to get my motor running. Sorry Bungie.

See you tomorrow. 🫡

1 ReplyBro if I log in after these changes and my triple 100's armor is not triple 100's anymore I'm just uninstalling. Making us regrind perfect armor AGAIN is not it.
-
I am sure Bungie will tremble after that announcement.

2 RepliesEdited by Toots238857: 10/5/2024 5:12:25 AMThe title of your post is EXACTLY what they intend on players doing. They're counting on it. Especially NEW players. They don't care about the older ones so much as player numbers. Grind like mad and increase their numbers. All purposely done. (Which was why they removed bounties as well to keep you grinding "Pathfinder"). Slower process. This is also why they keep re-skinning and reissuing things. Because they count on the NEW players to bail them out.

Agree it’s crap big mistake …

true, bungie bring back tutorial mode pls

I started playing Baulder's Gate again and I have absolutely no regrets leaving this bame

Think I’ll play marvel vs capcom 2 this episode. Thankfully I didn’t buy the episode pass. Such a let down this past 1 was. Bungie gonna make armor obsolete when no1 asked for it. Changed icebreaker to being a whole new weapon, should’ve made a new design if it isn’t D1 icebreaker. This company lacks common sense. Sony needs to can some these guys with the way there treating this game.

23 RepliesWhy are we acting like -5 is noticeable
-
Your current gear is staying. God forbid they give a reason to care about armor drops.
-
I think the change is healthy for the grind, but I’d like to wait and see how it plays out.

2 RepliesArmor has been the same for 5YEARS. This is a looter. Crying about this is beyond me.

3 RepliesThis new game director isn't it. Get Blackburn back in here.

Good for you.

5 RepliesThey listed special ammo finder as a stat. Turning mods into stats will weaken the builds. They are trying to pull a fast one like they did with stats back in SK, when they snuck in negative tiers. They moved 0 to 30, so anything under is penalized. Only talked about it once in a twab. Mods into stats and fewer stats on armor, doesn’t matter what math you do, that equals less.

5 RepliesCan't wait to grind for exact same stat distribution, but at 2x values. Assuming the stats are even worth the investment after 100, since the shown example for "Grenade" isn't really doing it for me.
"From 101 to 200, provides an increasing chance to gain a bonus grenade charge whenever your grenade becomes available."
Also given that we're clearly replacing Intellect with "Special Ammo", what about my Heavy Ammo -users, can we get armour stat for heavies too?

1 ReplySame , been there done that ! Just have no interest. I play a few games of pvp which is getting tedious now . Wonder how long we left of destiny pvp ? Has Bungie said they are doing anything with pvp ?

3 RepliesThe armour updates themselves are great; it does make me feel like there's easier ways to get hold of different stat sets. I'd be interested to know whether the mod slots work in the same way... +5/10 stat increase, and will masterworked armour still provide an additional boost (will it be +4 to account for there only being 3 stats on an armour piece??). Also, how high can the stat points go?? 60 on the image... can I still get gear up to 90 points? Will this be true of class items? It's possible (if 90 stats are possible for all) that we could get 450 stat points, which could mean double 200 stat build, with a 50-point dump elsewhere and 4 piece gear bonus... but how rubbish will the drops be? If all I'm getting are 50 point drops, then it's being binned regardless. Will original gear be able to function in the same way, with the same mods?? I suspect no, which could make these irrelevant quickly... this is the frustration; if there was a way to convert gear into the new model, that would be fine, but this is just another start again mechanic... and I personally hate that idea. Many questions to answer before it can be judged properly.

7 RepliesI'll be honest, I still don't understand what is with -5 being so hard. It doesn't seem any harder. But I did come up with a compromise for adding challenge but making it worth something. This is based on the updated Power Band. This the shortened verison - Current Vanguard Ops will have is Modifiers removed and power level for it is 1920. - Add Herioc Strikes with 1 Surge, 1 Burn and something like Brawler. These are set at 1960 - Nightfalls have only Master and GM difficulty. Master is 2000, and GMs are 2030 - All old Raids and Dungeons are set at 1950 and the most current ones are set at 1990 on Normal. Master modes are set at 2020. You can over level BUT there is no longer a Power Bonus from the Artifact.

3 RepliesWhat activities were you grinding to get triple hundred? seasonal focusing could have gotten you base armor, and master content and comp got you artifice.
-
26 RepliesSo you're not coming back until you can overlevel the challenge out of everything. Heard. See you next week.

2 RepliesCopy and paste posts like this are funny and sad. Not literally copy and past but I don't have enough fingers to count how many times you've said you won't be playing the content or not grinding for this or that. I understand the mindset yet it's sort of rare for people with similar or the same condition to want to get better and find joy in the things they choose to do to entertain themselves. The rare occasions can usually be summed up to ignorance and obviousness. Then there's some just can't let go of their masochism.
