Exotic class items. Gotta be one of your biggest fails ever.
From the way they're first acquired to the way they're farmed, it's hard for me to imagine how it could have been handled worse. You started off with a decent expansion and then proceeded to garbage disposal mode.

64 potential rolls per class.. That was their big fail. This game has been about collecting the best things and then using them at some point. Maybe not even today. 64 different rolls was far to many considering we have the ability to focus our efforts with NPC for the drops we are searching for. Respecting our play time has never been something big on Bungies lists and this proves it. No dupe protection, crazy amount of grind etc. The juice wasn't worth the squeeze as very few of the class items are actually desireable. It is clear bungie no longer makes games they want to play or they would recognize these horrible implementations within the game.

11 RepliesI agree. Pretty much all of it was bungled and took away so, so much from a generally great Campaign. It completely and predictably alienated many from continuing from that point on whilst being an excessive and frustrating, unrewarding grind for all the rest. These are all managerial level issues; its not the fault of coders and designers who just did their jobs (when they had them in some cases). I shudder to think about the new exotic mission now actually. Its little more than a coin flip at this point if it ends up being yet another finger up at purchasing players or not.

The way they're farmed - absolutely. The method of acquistion and the mission itself - not even remotely.

The mission is fine, but yes, the farming/abysmal odds of perk combos is "garbage disposal mode". There was 0 foresight when this was drempt up.

I don't get all the crying about it! We used to farm for mats in d1 to do up weapons! People want everything handed to them these days

Completely disagree. Dual Destiny is a great mission. Hard but fun. The attunement change is welcome. Only issue is the amount of vault space these items take up.

Look up the vanilla D1 exotic quests, TTK exotic swords quests, the D1 ToM quest, black spindle, the D1 sleeper simulant quest, the D1 outbreak perfected quest, the gunsmith exotics quests, & how to get Divinity.

Edited by The Hermit IX: 8/22/2024 7:08:18 PMI disagree. I liked the mission and farming was easy IMO up until the changes to stop the macro farm. I was fortunate enough to get the rolls I wanted. I had a feeling the macro farm would create issues at one point so I focused on farming. It’s obviously in need of fixing now. They’re adding more sources, focusing and should revert the chest drop rate back to what it was and leave overflow chest buff. So I don’t agree with your opinion about the method of acquiring it as a fail but instead an excellent mission/content, that I would suggest to anyone who plays. Players should take advantage of the people on the forums that offer to help with runs.

The only fail is them messing up drop rates to begin with then making them worse when they were trying to fix it.
