2 RepliesGot to rank 10, realized it only stays rank 10 for 1 additional season before reverting back to rank 7, decided I wasn't going to even participate in it again. Pointless. They don't even offer any cosmetic rewards. I'm not doing a bunch of content I don't feel like doing to get a number next to my name

Get to 10 consistently just playing, but I refuse to solo a dungeon ever again. Can I do it? Yes; I even did it in Spire of the Watcher just before Lightfall. But do I have 5+ hours that I can dedicate to a terminally fun activity that won't count if I get disconnected at any point? Almost never, and I'd rather do almost anything else even when I do.

Well considering the next to non-existent playerbase these days i guess its fun to flex a rank 11 on no-one lol. It was poorly implemented, not thought through at all endgame chase that rewards nothing. It should have been removed after the first season it was introduced.

Commendation scores and Guardian ranks show nothing about the player other than how much they grind the game. Guardian ranks (much like the Pantheon emblems) can’t be used as a metric of skill because so many people pay for them. How many times have you played with a rank 11 “GodSlayer” that seems to have never played the game before in their lives? When the system was first announced, I was excited. But, because of the negatives, I never hand out commendations and only do the ranks to 6 so I get all of the loadout slots.

10 RepliesThey literally don’t affect you they are meaningless numbers in the game

1 ReplyMarathon uses the exact system for progression

Or you could just ignore them entirely. Problem solved.

Never cared for it

Really cause I’ve been chasing it and since my raiding is sporadic when I was with a small clan. The triumphs have been slow. But recently got into a multi platform guild with 14k members and damn always something going on of any hour of the day. Sherpas, experienced raids, drunk PvP and raid nights. Gotta say my perspective on the game has changed. Always cool running with new people nightly

2 RepliesFr, the best of the best players I know are like rank 5 or 6 (including myself) Whilst the rank 11s are just basement dwellers or dads (nothing wrong with that tho, their skill just isn't up to par compared to younger lads)

Just deleted them
Why? What would change for the better or worse if It was deleted? For those like you, it would mean nothing other than your entitled mindset being stroked. For those that choose to interact with guardian rank challanges it takes something away. Seriously sounds like an entitled child trying to dictate what toys others can play with.

11 RepliesNo need to delete them. People have fun chasing after this type of BS. Just get rid of them as filter in fireteam finder. Outside of rank 11, it does not show any amount of skill.
-
It has/was a joke. They only wanted to spotlight no-life gamers. Or maybe active-clan gamers.
-
I’m going to become a Paragon once and then never think about it again.

I would be fine with them had it not been for the fireteam requirement above rank 6. So if you're rank 6 or below people are just going to assume that you don't have any raid/dungoen/etc expereince - and it'll make you less desireable. It's somewhat ironic that we have these types on ranks in the game seeing how they got rid of the titles here on the site when the site was updated 11 or so years ago. The argument then seemed to be that titles promoted elitism. In reality they didnt do much, other than keeping people in check. Because if you got banned you'd lose your title and some of the prefixes were really time consuming to re-earn.

1 ReplyDestroyed rank 11's in hard contents very sad 😁🤭

They really are. Need to be removed, they don’t really reward anything tbh

There really not there something Bungie added to keep us from being bored so if you have nothing to do try guardian rank objectives.
