Can someone help me understand why Neptune is such a drastic escalation to everything?

It just feels unnatural. The amount of enemies, the almost nonstop respawn of enemies, the amount of damage it takes to kill and how quickly you can get erased is just abnormal feeling compared to every other location in the game. Yes, I know, combat difficulty level 3, but why is it level 3? Even the Pale Heart is a 2. Is there a rotation of locations in the game that turn locations into level 3? Why would you do that when there isn’t an apparent loot benefit to it? Why do you do this Bungie, why?

  • I don't think Neptune was even supposed to exist. I just went back and replayed WitchQueen to help out a clan mante and it is VERY clear that this is where Bungie intended to introduce strand. It wasn't done in time so Bungie cut their losses and shoehorned it into their next expansion and then overturned everything because they had no idea how to balance everything around the new movement.
