Luna's Howl -worst solar HC I have ever used
Maybe it was good back in the day but wow what a piece of trash even with best rolls.
I will keep 2 of the shiny ones just in case but had 12. The lack of damage plus feel puts it at the bottom of the tier list.
Proof? Rarely see it used in PVP and not a PVE weapon for any purpose.

you need better perks, Lunas is good in PVP and PVE, at least the ones I have are... Incandescent with Eye of the storm Kill clip with heal clip. Subsistence with Magnificent howl

To each their own but this HC is busted. I have an encore/precision instrument roll that duels with the best. It doesn’t have normal hand cannon recoil so I kind of think of it as a small scout rifle. I think my roll is full bore, high caliber, encore, precision instrument with a handling MW. Idk what rolls you have but as a hand cannon enjoyer I would really suggest trying some different rolls.

Cure x2, curing team mates and 400% ability regeneration is pretty good and yeah everything is exploding in flames. I haven’t tried my PvP rolls out but most controller players I know love it and are two tapping with it. Dont live and die by one review. Watch cool guy or fallouts reviews.

It’s the kick of the gun that makes it unusable for me. It’s 140 but kicks like the 180. Its terrible.

3 RepliesLuna's Howl is the highest damage 140 in the game with Mag Howl activated, even compared to exotics. Outside of bows and Fighting Lion it's the highest damage primary ammo weapon in the game. The problem you are likely running into is that it's also has the highest skill ceiling. Players with strong movement skills can capitalize on Slideshot, and hitting shots is of course what makes the gun great. I suspect that you attitude about the gun in PVP has more to do with your 50% DNF rate in Crucible than the actual performance of the gun. Maybe I'm projecting, but that amount of DNFs suggests that you get pretty salty in PVP, which would absolutely color your view of the guns you are using (unless you have a major ISP issue). In PVE Healclip + Incandescent is absolutely S-tier, especially if you are on a Solar subclass. Healclip is a great sustain perk, and combining it with Ember of Benevolence for 400% ability regen is absolutely goated as a support ability. It doesn't have the add clear ability of Sunshot, and does less overall damage than Zaouli's Bane, but it is still one of the best PVE hand cannons in the game, let alone Solar hand cannons.

In PVE I use subsistence and incandescent and it is an ad clearing monster. I used the heal clip incandescent one whilst doing pantheon, and that health proc when you reload helped me and any of my fireteam that were around me. Struggling to get the best PVP roll though, I find it a little lackluster in that department. Guess it comes down to preference at the end of the day with weapons. Back when it came out, I used it to get the not forgotten and it was fantastic. Not really a fan of the way they’ve changed magnificent howl, but if used correctly, precision instrument perk absolutely wrecks in PvP, like I said though, still trying to find the best perk for me to pair with that perk. Plus though, PVE, burn everything, heal yourself AND it can be used for unstoppables 🤌 (Heal clip/incandescent)
