Please just entirely rework it. The only time I've ever used this exotic was to complete catalysts on the moon. Even attempting to make it work in pvp and it's useless. Even with a damage buff it's equivalent to high impact reserves.
With a vampire look, lore and name you'd think it would go with it's theme. However that's not the case.
Which is why I suggest reworking it to all void abilities grant siphoning and while in nova warp deal damage over time. Which any damage dealt from a void abilities returns health over time. Basically what empowering rift and child of the old gods does but as a beneficial option. As most people don't know that it grants health regen. However it's piss poor in both pve and pvp. A new ornament would go nice.

Damage buffs in PvP in general are pretty useless unless stacked. Consistency over situational use seems to be the trend. 2x Subclass-matching surge + rift extension is a neat idea without stepping on Assembler's toes too much. Pretty nice for PvE damage stacking alone with Emp Rift (40% bonus immediately) or go Radiant + Healing rift to be +46% with healing (extending radiant on solar kill with fragments) and saving leg armour slots for something like an auto-loader instead. More of a solo play usage is how I see it, combine with a Subsistence and/or Rampage weapon and go to town.

I say they revert the nerf with it used with Well. The fact Well is just a giant rift but they decided to remove the ability to extend it's duration on kills is so dumb. I know we have Phoenix Protocol for getting Well back faster, but Sanguine being the opposite and increasing it's duration instead feels like it would fit with that. For those who complain Well is OP and disagree with this thought, I would like to direct you to much evidence of players being killed in a Well despite the claims of it making you "immortal". Two examples would be Chibi and Jez with their runs in the Cosmodrome and Moon (Season of the Seraph) Battlegrounds GM.

I don't run high-end content regularly, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad exotic. My main issue is that this and boots of the assembler feel fairly similar in design.

1 ReplyFiend, I agree with you on a new ornament! But it's not a bad exotic. It makes you an unstoppable demon in most cases. Work on the build and the spam with it. It is better than Pheonix Protocol. The only thing I use more is Starfire Protocol. Very strong in pve and pvp. Playing with it by accident and everyone was saying why is everything we are doing so easy. Just Youtube the build for it. Everyone in your fireteam will be happy you are running it. Peace out bro!

I mean, you could still find use for it. I have a build that revolves around devour with the utilization of Touch of Malice that synergistically pairs with my rift. That's where the child of the old gods comes to play.

2 RepliesSince standing still in Destiny is bad, Sanguine should also increase the diameter of Rifts with no corresponding knives in the back to go with it.

It's actually got a lot of utility for damage rotations at a high level, and you can use it for some niche stuff in PvP that can be pretty fun.

Unfortunately it was never good. It looks amazing though, feelsbad

1 ReplyI don't agree, at least in PvE. It was very useful on Master Crota for putting out Well of Radiance DPS and also keeping rifts alive. It definitely has its uses, especially in the end game. PvP had a few weeks were it was very powerful with Eriana's Vow, not sure if it got a nerf afterwards as I didn't pay much attention, but I wouldn't be surprised.
