It has been a year since I played Destiny 2. Has the game improved? Did the PvP get any better? Will Crown of Sorrow raid ever return? Those are basically my main questions. I stopped playing the game because I need to focus my time on finishing school. I ended up getting my master's degree in Political Science and I did a professional conference over the summer. Now, I am thinking about applying to different schools in Europe for a PhD.

the only real change is now you can access your vault from orbit go get that PhD!

2 RepliesJust stay away.

It is heading downhill same with PVP, I wouldn't expect CoS or any Levi raid to come back, maybe Scourge possibly. Lightfall was like Curse of Osiris level of poor quality, Final Shape has been delayed likely as to not 'under-deliver'.

1 ReplyYes, no, and no. You’re welcome.

2 Repliesits improved in some ways and in other ways it has not improved and pvp did not improve one bit in fact modders basically control everything pvp related now, bungie apparently refuses to add an actual working anti-cheat system for all platforms on a plus pc modders are virtually non-existent now but xbox and playstation modders are at a nonstop rise

3 RepliesIf you stay here, you’ll master the art of greed and laziness. Bwahahahahahaha!!! Welcome to hollowness!

Good, stay away from Destiny, it’s a garbage game and Remnant 2 is better.
-
It's still a Hand Cannon Gey Fest

1 ReplyNo, the game is in the worst state it has ever been in - PvP especially - they haven't touched it in what, five years? Stay away if you can....
-
1 ReplyKeep focusing on yourself boss. The game is going the opposite direction.
-
1 ReplyCongratulations for your master. Now get your PhD.
-
Made the right choice, get your studies done, accomplish the mission then you can put your feet up and game a bit.
-
Run as far as you can don't look back

7 RepliesAnd you have obviously been better off and more productive for it. Game is going backwards, enjoy life instead.
-
This is the worst place you could possibly go for an honest answer. The forums are filled to the brim with doomsayers and players that never even touched the game.
-
Not much difference between now and a year ago honestly
-
There should be an emblem for not playing for a year. Like anti-fomo.

Game got more quality of life features, fireteam finder and vault from orbit being the 2 more recent ones. With pvp the meta shifted, it's been far worse so many times to such a worse degree than it is now but depending 9n who you ask it can go either way. Pvp isn't a bad feel atm but if you have a gun you dominate with and it's suddenly not a 1 shot, you will hear those people complain. I would say the game is worth it given you understand what the game has to offer and factor that into games cost. Not expecting this to be the best game ever made and simply having fun sometimes in spite of the general audience will get you a couple hundred hours of fun in this game without a thought.

It’s a good side game when you’ve beaten all other games you want to play. Takes too much time to have great work/life balance these days on the game imo. I’m so behind that there’s no hope for me to catch up in this game, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

4 RepliesThe main question is, what do you want from the game? The game is very repetitive,Grindy, and to be honest, nothing really exciting has happened or been introduced over the last 12 months, Re-Skinned weapons/Armour and PVP is the worst it's ever been. it's more of a collections game for the hard-core player base now. Having said that, if it's something your happy to just play for an hour when you have some downtime it can be enjoyable, get your character levelled and obtain some half decent world drop weapons you'll be good to go, Raids/Dungeons/Nightfall are good to dip in and out of, apart from that your not missing out much.
It has been a year since I played Destiny 2.
Okay?
Has the game improved?
No.
Did the PvP get any better?
No.
Will Crown of Sorrow raid ever return?
Probably not.
Those are basically my main questions.
Yeah, it's not worth it. You'd be better off reading a book.
I stopped playing the game because I need to focus my time on finishing school. I ended up getting my master's degree in Political Science and I did a professional conference over the summer. Now, I am thinking about applying to different schools in Europe for a PhD.
That's very impressive. Not that important or relevant to your main question, but still rather impressive.

2 RepliesYes to crown of sorrow. That raid slapped.

Feels good right, Not playing this garbage😂😂

Me mostly for a month, a bit more excluding some raids because FRIENDSHIP, not because BUNGIE heard us and was going to fix all the s... this game has. The answer is yes and no, you know they use to improve things at the same time that destroy others, so the game can be maintained in a love/hate toxic balance.

There is definitely a lot of content to play through. Some good, some meh. Strand (new subclass) is really fun. A few QoL changes here and there have helped. the in-game loadouts option in particular is very nice to have Overall it's still the same destiny it's always been, just with new content and new stuff to chase. Some pain points have been addressed, but many remain as they have always been. Don't go in expecting an all new game, but given how long you've been away there is plenty of stuff to do if you're looking to kill some time
