I’m a long time Destiny player who has done everything the game has offered. I’ve done the raids, competed in Day 1s, etc. etc. I’ve also read feedback on these latest changes by Bungie. Let me tell you that The Division 2 has everything you’re looking for. Awesome activities, great open world, endless buildcrafting, amazing character building and grind, it really does offer everything you’re looking for.
I’m not here to push anything I’m just giving you my experience. As hard as it was for me to realize, I know Destiny is over. Not necessarily a complete collapse, but the game I used to love is gone and it’s not coming back. Ever since Bungie got addicted to microtransactions its been one bad turn after another.
Just my two cents, take it as you will.

Edited by Hypnotize: 11/27/2023 9:03:08 PMI’ve been playing Division 2 for a long time, but there’s nothing in that game that really changes. Yeah, you get some cool exotics from time to time, but they released an LMG that shoots fire bullets, right after they released St. Elmo’s the season before that shoots electric bullets…Not very different when you really think about it. There’s no new enemy types, no new missions, and brand set bonuses are mostly bad after the first bonus. There’s also no new weapon talents that aren’t related to a status effect. In my opinion, that game gets stale very quickly. The only good thing is that rarely do weapons and gear get nerfed into the ground like in Destiny 2.

4 RepliesGame is great until Warlords and depends on how much you grind before starting the dlc.

The seasons are also free if you own warlords DLC, so no further money spent. (Everything else is just cosmetic or materials)

Edited by Seki: 11/27/2023 7:25:10 AM
Awesome activities
When playing the story for the first time, it feels really good. Things tend to make a bit more sense and I didn't feel much need to question character decisions too much. That being said: - All the manhunts are recycled existing activities like CPs and bounties as well as slightly changed story missions. - There are only 2 raids - Countdown used to always be the same for every run and nowadays as a 700 watch level I am just getting kicked out of every lobby - Descent was okay for some runs but then quickly became boring - Strongholds are cool but not on heavy repeat. - Summit made farming even dumber - DZ is dumb. I get that ppl want to play pvp, but that teams of longtime players can terrorize others and pirate their loot feels incredibly terrible.
great open world
Much more alive than D2's sure, but it feels hollow doing the same little tasks over and over again, the same CPs over and over again with no feeling of any progression. However (2 things top of my head): Div 2 has some things that D2 could (or imo should) have adopted a long time ago. - A crafting where you can choose to change a single slot for any given non-exotic gun is awesome. The crafting we got is outright boring, gives everyone a 100% roll and no more incentive to run the activity again. Could you only change one slot, we'd have an easier time getting a 90% roll (especially for the dungeon weapons) but you are incentivised to run a lot more for a 100% (or close). - Being able to set a global difficulty to your game is amazing. You could actually reward players for playing higher level patrol. - An actual shooting range where you can customize targets to be a certain enemy and difficulty type. You are getting real damage numbers there unlike the bs we got for Destiny 2 where you get no relevant feedback from that pathetic "shooting range".

While I do love the overall universe of The Division, what the game currently is not what I particularly want.

You’re not here to push anything but you’ll push something lol.

I’m just waiting on massive to release the next priority targets so I can take on the recruiter and get his mask.

2 RepliesDivision would be such a good game if the pvp was actually balanced
Let me tell you that The Division 2 has everything you’re looking for.
Can you jump in it?

1 ReplyIs division 2 first person or 3rd? I ever since Bungie announced that they want to their player base to play something else that is what I have been looking for. Might try out card games like TCG to throw my money at instead of Destiny since they clearly want us to just leave the platform

1 ReplyEdited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 11/25/2023 9:30:31 PMI preferred New Yorks snowy and cold environments of D1 Nothing like a firefight during a Blizzard(what a Europa PvP map could be)
-
Division wasn't bad.
-
Do not say Destiny is over or it will be you who is over and when you get back to the division you will lack the adeptness to guide the -blam!- show you're going to create by trying to be cool like destiny and all your divisions gonna crumble.

1 ReplyD2 is great but I cannot get over the terrible pvp and when doing end game your team is unloading multiple magazines to take down a human/ it’s immersion breaking
