I'm excited and worried.
Orbs and using orbs/charges is the foundation of every kit I make. Orbs on the player are not that common or easy to proc without investment.
Orbs of Attrition might break the game. It seems way too good, way too easy...
The orbs must spawn on the player, because it procs on sustained dmg.
This small fact, will have a cascading effect impacting every area of the game... including PvP spaces. Even if there is cooldown... it won't matter.
Not since Vorpal... has there been a single perk that will fundamentally change the way we play the game in PvE. It's why Vorpal was nerfed. This seems like Deja Vu.
Invincibility... unlimited Explosive Light dps... a potential tag n' hide strat for building supers, ability spam in the crucible.
Just "Emergency Reinforcement" and the resist it provides is going to be extremely problematic.
Don't get it twisted, not trying to be a pessimist... I'm really excited about this new weapon perk, but also concerned. It just seems too good... even if it has a 10 second cooldown, it's still too good.
Your thoughts?
Awesome.. good?
Or Awesomely broken and bad, and the only weapons people will be using are Explosive Light and Orbs of Attrition weapons?

1 ReplyI doubt it will be too out of band. Remember it's only on a sword for now as far as we know, and we still don't know how many swings it will take to get an orb, or if there will be a cooldown. Also I believe you can already get a similar effect using the right build and cold steel on the dawning sword. don't think that's ever been a problem

1 ReplyEdited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 11/10/2023 7:55:43 PMYou can already make unlimited orbs with heavy handed, what's the difference ?

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
If it turns out to be as good as you’re indicating then it’ll just get nerfed. Sadly introducing something to help sell a season (and in this case hopefully bring some players back) then nerfing it into the ground (or just removing it) later on isn’t new ground for Bungie. -
1 ReplyAn actual well thought out and coherent post. Colour me impressed. Congratulations.
