I'm starting to dip my toes into gaming on a keyboard and mouse and would be interested in hearing from some of you all on good key binds for PvE. I basically only play Warlock (like 95% of the time) and have absolutely zero experience with keyboard and mouse (I've always used a controller), so I have zero muscle memory and am hoping to pick up good habits.
Thanks!

Whatever is comfortable for you. Don't listen to the people who say "use these optimal keybinds!!!" There is no such thing. Experiment with what works for you, over time you'll get your preferred settings worked out.

Play using whatever YOU feel is comfortable for you. Find the keys that you feel would be the most comfortable to press for an action. Like for me, I like using my scroll wheel in as Grenade instead of needing to extend my finger to hit G.

I love the default.

Edited by Meaga: 9/28/2023 3:06:21 PMIf you have side mouse buttons: Bind the IMPORTANT stuff to them. Think about what you use every gunfight. That would be weapon swaps and movement abilities My hunter binds: Swap weapons on one mouse button, dodge in the other Warlock: Air move on one mouse button, swap weapons on the other. I put my class ability of the C key Titan: Melee ability on a mouse button, swap weapons on another, barricade on C. If I am using thruster, class ability on a mouse button and melee on E.

I play pvp all the time and I use the g pro wireless mouse with Grenade and melee on the 2 sides button Mouse wheel scroll down for rift Mouse wheel click for icarus dash I use left alt to crouch, but I know other ppl use C.

I try to have everything around WASD since that’s your movement. I don’t like r for reload tho I use scroll wheel up. And side button on mouse to swap weapons
-
G502x has a lot of buttons you can pretty much turn it into a controller. Q for nade, r for reload f for super, shift for sprint.

I hear alt F4 is a good option

It's nice having a mouse like the Logitech G502 because of the buttons. You can have your charged melee on the thumb button. Macros for skating if needed. Binding jump to down scroll and air move to scroll up is nice. Normal melee I like to have on C. I actually had weapon swap on one of the side buttons but I recently stopped doing that because whenever I reach over to swap weapons, it would sometimes cause me to lose control of my mouse and throw off my aim in Crucible so I bound kinetic/energy to 2 and heavy to 3. Though you could try binding weapon swap to Q or E even and having your Grenade also on your mouse. I also have super bound to mouse wheel click but sometimes I actually press down when scroll jumping.

Bind everything to ESC
-
Binding uncharged melee (which is also block with swords and glaives) to mouse4 was probably the best change I made.
-
Air move/dash on scroll wheel
-
vidmasters never use caps lock

Get an mmo mouse if you don’t already have one. Keyboard space is limited and having to move your fingers off the movement keys is inefficient. They have 12 number buttons on the side and make life so much easier. I got 1 as reload, 2 to swap weapons, 3 for heavy, 4 class abilities, 5 grenade and so on. Also, if you’re like me and cant do asdw, get a razer tartarus.

Edited by Golden: 9/27/2023 4:19:16 PMDo what works what best for you. Play around with it, it took me a good few months to find everything. But for me, if you have a mouse with side buttons, binding one of the buttons to my melee. I also binded, my jump to the scroll wheel, but that’s just me cause I like to titan skate lol

Honestly whatever works for you. Keybinds are different for everyone.
